Yes indeed! I'm an old native Texan and I'm proud to tell you I campaigned for Cruz. I contributed money to his campaign. I worked the phones for him.
I'm sure I talked several people into voting for Ted. Heck, I even had my grand kids campaigning for him. (It's okay, my grand kids are all of voting age. My great grand kids have a way to go yet. lol)
The GOP-E down here in Texas didn't want him but WE Did & We got him elected! Praise God!
