Thanks, Russia. Kill more of those ISIS pigs, until they are entirely gone.

“The Islamic State-held city of Palmyra was bombed on Friday as Syrian army jets carried out at least 25 air strikes. The air strikes killed at least 26 people, “

Must have been really small bombs.

They are, however, not big fans of democracy.

I was laughing when the Iraqis were posing with their purple fingers after voting, while GWB (and a lot of people here in FR) were crowing and celebrating as if were some great victory for "democracy."

Last I checked, it's still legal to rape little boys and murder one's wife, daughter or sister.

There is an excellent interview of Assad with Charlie Rose. Assad is intelligent and rational. He may be the only sane Muslim in Syria. So why is Obama intent on removing him.

No wonder Obama is p1$$^& at Putin.

Putin is actually the only one “in it to win it”.

Barack Obama created the turmoil throughout the mideast and is responsible for the death and destruction there.

It seems that he always manages to be on the wrong side of every controversy in the USA and every war, armed conflict, and uprising in the rest of the world.

As it is said in that part of the world:

I, against my brothers. I and my brothers against my cousins. I and my brothers and my cousins against the world.

No mention of democracy or the rule of law there. To this day I don't understand Bush II’s thinking. Were his advisors that bad, or would he just not listen?

ISIS is a bunch of sadistic, psychopathic thugs who have managed to wreak havoc in Syria not because they are competent or smart but because they were they vicious terrorists who had the support of President Obama and the senior officers of the Iraq army who were collaborating with ISIS and deserted their troops and handed over to ISIS the American weapons we left them.

A hand full of FA-18 could have wiped ISIS out before they even got started by a in a matter of days, if not hours. We had the intelligence that showed ISIS Jihadi forces lined up on the highway right out the open in the middle of the barren desert with place to run or hide. Obama had this information and just sat by and watched while ISIS took over Northern Iraq without hardly firing a shot.

Even now, after they have taken most of Northern Iraq and much of Syria and piled atrocity upon atrocity, destroyed the stable Iraqi government and displaced about 2 million Syrian and Iraqi refugees any serious military action against them can wipe them out in short order.

The ISIS Jihadi don't have a chance against the Russian Spetnaz troops Putin has sent in to deal with ISIS

The Russians are going to show the world just how badly President has been sand bagging on military action against ISIS when they wipe the ISIS sadists off the face of the earth in short order and made them cry and beg for their lives.

he US government rejects the idea, advocated by Moscow, of cooperating with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to fight Islamic State, and has warned Syria not to interfere in its air campaign.

The US has an air campaign in Iraq?

Who knew?

Our pilots have been launching off carriers, flying around Iraq and Syria listening in frustration to desperate cries for support from the victims of ISIS and trying to get authorization to attack that never comes and then flying back to the carrier and having to land with a full load of unused bombs.

I hope you're wrong too. I really hope you are. What worries me is not necessarily that Obama (or Putin) would consciously start trouble with the other. Obama, while dumb, is not stupid enough to do that (and Putin, while thuggish, is not thuggish enough to do that). What worries me however is 'mistakes.' In their silly games with each other, a mistake is made whereby American or Russian lives are lost, the guys on the ground retaliate on self-defense, more lives get lost, and by the time Washington and Moscow wake up to what's happening there's a live (but localised) situation at play. Hopefully Obama and Putin would have wiser heads in their cabinets to pull things back, but the problem with cowards and thugs is that both tend to have people like them surrounding them, and another problem with cowards and thugs is that they get emotional over situations and double down.

Compare that with Reagan ....a man's man, who had no problem using extreme force, but at the same time knew when not to start something that didn't really have to get started.

Contrast that with Coward Obama, angry at Russia for mucking up its plans, and Thug Putin, whose popularity in Russia stems from his spiel that he is standing up to American aggression. A coward and a thug on opposite sides of the board. Now, that's scary as both have something to prove. If it were two strong men, in the same manner two strong lions in the wild will never fight unless they absolutely have to (eg taking over a pride) since they know unnecessary fights can lead to unnecessary injuries which can mean unnecessary death, in the same way two strong alpha men wouldn't fight unless there was no other choice. But put a coward and a thug, both beta men, and the chances of something going wrong shoots up to the stratosphere.

That's my worry, and the more American and Russian assets you have operating in a small sphere the higher the likelihood of something happening.

Burning a Russian is the last thing the ISIS should do—Remember—off Syria is a Russian Super Submarine with nukes. Launch two rockets with several warheads—Half of Syria will be GONE> ISIS will be no more. Problem solved.

great post.

Never thought of it that way.

as long as no one sets up a no fly zone, there is some hope to avoid ‘mistakes’

That is not true. The US bombing campaign is good at dropping lots of expensive weapons over and over again. Occasionally, they even kill bad guys.

That's just what Obama and most liberal CICs don't get. The military is not (save for some special OPs stuff) a precision instrument you control from a desk in DC. It's hell on earth. You unleash it as last resort only when absolutely needed, and then you get out of its way and let it do its job.

The US seeks instablity in the Middle East ..... so that the Caliphate can be restored.

Obama and his inner circle seek that; the rest of the apparatus just follows along.
