Guess Gerson doesnt know that if the four million evangelicals/conservatives had not stayed home on election day
If the G.O.P.e. puts up another cultist, it will happen again.

Wrong.
The party smells because it’s dead.
Trump just stumbled across the decaying corpses.

Trump better watch out or they may end him with a bullet—these people will do anything to keep the gravy train rolling. wait till events change everything.

Excellent summary re so called conservative purity which we see daily on FR:
It is stunning and sickening. Goldberg, Jay Cost, Guy Benson, Byron York, Jim Geraghty EACH write about one Trump hit piece a day and flood Twitter with their crap. Cost, who should know better, constantly tries to claim there are similarities with Herman Cain whose poll lead stayed until October---but no one, not Rudy, not Gingrich, not Cain, has ever led in EVERY STATE in almost every poll. The new Gravis poll out tonight showing Fiorina tied nationally and Carson ahead in MI are the first polls anywhere in a month showing anything but a sizable Trump lead.
So the outright lies are a thing to behold. But Mark Steyn said it best: all these guys insist suddenly on "Ideological purity" and "conservative principles" yet what have we gotten for it in two elections? And in two terms of Bush? Nothing. One temporary tax cut. No stopping of illegals, no stopping of Iran, no defunding of Planned Murderhood, no stopping of Import/Export or fast track.

Interesting that the GOP wanted an allegiance pledge from Trump, yet asks nothing of the establishment shills.Trump should have them to pledge allegiance to America instead of Mexico.

...they will lose the down-ticket across the board, including Congress, the Governors, and the State houses, because the base will stay home. Ah, yep, that's what they'll get, and what's left of 'em won't be useful to the Rats anymore, their crony perks will dry up.

So far they have minimized my guy, Cruz.
Now they set up the firing squad for Trump.
Other than writing letters, which they ignore, and making phone calls, which they ignore, I’m not sure what any private citizen without a vast fortune can do.
We can make our small contributions to our favourite candidates, but we are drowned by the big business, K street money changers.
We hold our noses and vote for the Elite appointed candidate and we get screwed.
We stay away election day and we get screwed.
Basically, we get screwed.
The party leaders have a stranglehold on the political process.
By the time a local politician works their way to the federal level, they have been thoroughly corrupted.
There are exceptions, but not many.
I guess I’m having a particularly bad day.

If this what the current Republican Party consists of, then the GOP NEEDS to be destroyed.
I dont trust Trump. But I dislike the people attacking him even more. They have proved that their REAL enemy is anyone who does not toe their line - conservatives, libertarians, Tea Partiers, and populists. Certainly, they do not consider Democrats to be the enemy.
If the current GOP is destroyed, I will not miss it.
Word for word same post. What a coincidence, huh?

But Trump benefits from a lot of dissatisfaction with political polarization. Those who oppose him ought to recognize that by now.IMO, the underlines are the key quote.
