I regret to say that it is probably a Large Majority of U.S. residents/citizens that have little or no knowledge of the contents of the Bible.
Several Mainstream “churches” are declining because either they know so little or they have decided that they(liberal leadership)know how to help Jehovah move into a New Age...
the sheeple that follow such are not much better off...if they are not as diligent as the Bereans...

Let's identify the real Israel of God, not that Christ-rejecting, UN-created nation in the middle east. The NT is full of verses showing that God has rejected Israel of the flesh, forever. (Matthew 21:19).
This in no way invalidates his promises which were made to Abraham and his seed--Jesus Christ. See Galatians 3:16.
True Israel consists of the saints, believers of all ages who were looking forward to the coming messiah (and accepted him) and all thereafter who hear the gospel and believe. See Ephesians 2:11-22.
