To date, Cruz has been unable to connect with the voters. He is, by far, the most articulate and intelligent candidate of either party, but he seems too wonkish and preachy to the average citizen. For some, he comes across as the smartest kid in class who is always holding his hand up because he knows the answer, but the teacher isn't calling on him.

Cruz should do better in a smaller field.

I’ve said this before ad nauseum but I think Cruz has realized he’s just not getting the traction and being a highly ambitious guy he is going to make sure he gets dragged along on Trump’s coattails into the new Trump administration. I think its a real smart tactic that none of the others (maybe Carson) have thought of.
