Short speech but very compassionate and fiery talking about our Vets.

And anyone that thinks Trump is doing this for money, attention, ratings, etc...simply isn’t coherent.

Trump can be retired to anywhere he wants, living out his remaining years with his beautiful wife in paradise.

Instead, he wants to spend what’s left of his remaining years helping restore America to greatness.

If people can’t see that, then there is no hope for them.

I was skeptical at first, but his dedication has shifted my opinion.

The guy is almost 70 years old and he’s out there nearly every day on TV, social media, giving live interviews, speeches, debates, etc...

That was interesting. Basically dismantling the VA because they aren’t getting the job done.

I think he needs to run on a 20%-axing of federal government. Across the board cuts. Do away with useless and expensive annoyances like the Department of Education. That’s a local issue. Cut EPA 20%... Stop immigration cold until the dust settles a bit...

There are MANY more specific plans he can put out like he did on immigration that’ll generate more momentum.

Trump is running as a populist.

This picture is going to have legs. If a candidate wants to picture himself pro-military, this is a great photo op for it - standing on the deck of the greatest battleship class (Iowa class) America has ever produced, with triple 16 inch guns his backdrop.

Marines loved those big guns, the Iowa class could put ‘em on the enemy with precision.

The press and GOP-e want particulars so they can come up with 1000 reasons why his ideas won’t work. Politicians don’t understand business or the art of successful negotiation.

He is amazing. I’m not sure there has ever been anyone like this in politics.

Trump says 24Trillion debt is the point of no return.
Basically, we go under at that point as our deficit is nearly equal to our GDP
Trump will work his financial magic to at least hold off the inevitable for several more years and hopefully turn things around as we cannot continue to run these huge deficits.

Cutting off ALL services for 11Million+ Illegals will save a lot of money for starters.

Perhaps you should consider another forum as this one is overwhelmingly in support of Mr. Trump and your negativity is falling on deaf ears and is getting old.

And it’s annoying.

Just a suggestion. You may be happier elsewhere.

“I support Cruz, though no candidate is perfect, obviously (see Cruz’s actions re: the Iran deal, for one).”

Yeah that was quite a blunder. Can we afford somebody who gets a critical deal like that, so wrong?

His real problem though is the lack of charisma. A great conservative, highly intelligent and not electa-genic. Newly created word.

I also initially supported Cruz and dismissed Trump as a “Summer Fling” and thought he would be gone by now.

His actions more than his words have shown me he is serious about this.

I like Cruz, but he doesn’t seem electable.

Trump has turned a usually boring election season into a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, and I mean that in a good way.

Never seen anything like this and I don’t know if we will again.

Win or Lose, Trump is giving the Dems, the MSM and the GOPe a big middle finger and he’s ahead in just about every poll.

Maybe the GOPe will get the message and stop serving up the likes of Dole, McCain, Romney, Jeb, etc...

And perhaps future candidates won’t cower from the media.
Some of the candidates are already following Trump’s lead on that.

I would rather lose with Trump than win with Jeb.

At least Trump will stand up and speak for Conservatives and tell the MSM, the Dems and the GOPe where to go.

You know why guys like Jeb sound so “low-energy” and boring?
Because they are not compassionate about Conservative issues the way Reagan, Palin and Trump are.

Someone like Jeb will be like having Boehner or O’Connell as POTUS

Sell outs and liars that beg us for money then forget their promises once they’re in office.

Enough!

‘See you at the Ronald Regen (Reagan) Library tomorrow night!’

Are you fairly local to the Reagan Library?
I’m about 20 minutes west of the Reagan, and still have not made up my mind if I’m going or not.
It is being said around here to get there early - - -

‘electa-genic. Newly created word.’

Wish I’d thought of that!
I’m not sure how long it’s been, but many elect politicians based on how they look (and sound) on television.

I wish!

I meant figuratively. :)

Levin had the organizer from the Library on discussing the logistics of how they are handling this massive event.

Sounded as though everything is well in hand, except the limitations that the two lane road to get there is going to cause.

Tons of shuttles was his answer! (The library is closed today, FYI, but the gift shop will be open, he said)
Good luck if you go!

Really the whole setting and speech was designed to highlight the plight of the veterans. Trump has previously said that the treatment of veterans was a “national disgrace”.

But in this speech he is trying to elevate the issue. And he gave some specifics of what would be done to alleviate the problem. From restructuring the VA, to taking it apart, to allowing vets to go to private doctors and hospitals.

That’s LEADERSHIP!!! A lot more than any other candidate has done on the issue.

He talks a lot about cutting government.

But he should be specific about where and how. I don’t like arbritary cuts. Are you going to arbitrarily cut SS, Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans benefits too? No, and I wouldn’t vote for anyone who said they would. And he’s not going to cut military, he’s going to build that.

When he is successful at bringing jobs back, a lot of safety net programs will automatically drop as people go back to work.

He’s already said foreign aid should be predicated on how countries treat us. I think he said after the EPA spill that should have been handled locally. So it’s not like he doesn’t have the beginnings of a good plan to cut government.
