A recent survey shows a majority of Americans think illegal immigration is a very serious problem and would support measures to deport illegal immigrants currently living within the country - such as creating a hotline to report activity connected to illegal immigration.
The survey also found that:
Half of Americans would report an employer they suspected of hiring illegal immigrants to the government, Nearly half of Americans would support the government actively searching for illegal immigrants who have not committed any other crimes to deport them from the United States, and 39% of respondents would report their neighbors for being illegal immigrants. YouGov asked 1,000 American adults between Sept. 1-2 for their opinions on various issues related to illegal immigration.
Asked, How serious a problem is ILLEGAL immigration in the US? 51% of respondents replied it is very serious, while 26% responded illegal immigration is somewhat serious, and 15% described illegal immigration as a minor problem.
In total, 77% of respondents believe illegal immigration is either a very serious or somewhat serious problem. Including the 15% who responded illegal immigration is a minor problem, 92% of Americans view illegal immigration as a problem.
YouGov also asked individuals about certain measures they would support in order to remove illegal immigrants currently in the country.
A majority of respondents (55%) claimed they would support creating a phone number where people could report activity connected to illegal immigration to the government.

Stopping the flow across the border and enforcing the laws inside the country, including deporting any illegal alien, has been the winning issue since 2008. They stuck us with the author of the two previous amnesty attempts as the nominee.
We have a candidate willing to do the job we want done.
Question is, will The Cheap Labor Express, and the Uniparty allow us to elect him?
If this is true, Donald will win in a historic landslide.
HOORAY Americans. CONgre$$? bought and paid for POS CONgre$$?
FUCONgre$$. Give us the money we paid you con-artists. Useless and/or evil.
ZERO representation.
Crime stats for illegals are being hidden...
■ In Florida, there were 5,061 illegal immigrant inmates in state prison facilities as of June 30, but neither the state Department of Corrections nor the Florida Department of Law Enforcement track the number in county prisons, spokesmen for those agencies told FoxNews.com.
■ In Illinois, where state prisons house 46,993 inmates, some 3,755 are illegal immigrants, according to Illinois Department of Corrections figures. Once again, state officials do not compile figures for county jails, although a Cook County official estimated that nearly 6 percent were illegal immigrants.
■ In Arizona, neither state public safety officials nor the governors office could produce figures showing the number of criminal illegal immigrants held in county jails, but state prison figures released by the Arizona Department of Corrections show out of 42,758 prisoners held in state facilities in July, about 10.8 percent were illegal immigrants.
■ In California, there were 128,543 inmates in custody as of Aug. 12, but the state, which has been criticized for its leniency toward illegal immigrants, no longer keeps track of the citizenship status of inmates. As of July 31, 2013, the last time figures were documented, there were as many as 18,000 foreign-born citizens in California state prisons of 133,000 incarcerated.
