Medics shuffle the other body carts, left then right then left again, lifting and rolling the plastic-wrapped corpses from one gurney to another to make room for the next body.

What a coincidence. The 3 American cities in the top 50 all have high populations of black people.

Who would of thunk it? /s

Also consider whom they elect into local offices. Obama’s sons and daughters.

Is that an Americas only list?

I don’t see anything from the Middle East on there.

There are 3 South African cities

No. 14 60.00 Cape Town South Africa
No. 35 34.89 Nelson Mandela Bay South Africa
No. 38 34.48 Durban South Africa

I was surprised there was nothing from the mid-east

Maybe outright warfare--civil or otherwise--is placed in a different category from ongoing run-of-the-mill violence. It might be like the "act of God" or warfare exemptions in insurance policies. When the whole town is being pillaged, with wholesale population movements, then regular statistics don't apply very well.

That’s what I was thinking. The study was done in Mexico City and I can’t read Spanish.

17 of the 50 are from Brazil. That is a cultural problem beyond local politics.

I was in Brazil in 2000. Had to spend 1 night in Sao Paolo, town of 23 million. We stayed indoors.
