Germany is to reintroduce some form of controls on its border with Austria to cope with the influx of migrants, German and Austrian media report.
The scale of the measures is unclear. Trains from Austria to Germany have stopped running, an Austrian rail company spokesperson said.
In Munich alone, more than 13,000 migrants arrived on Saturday.
Germany's vice-chancellor said the country was "at the limit of its capabilities".
Germany expects 800,000 migrants to arrive this year.

Securing the borders is a nice start, but it isn’t nearly enough. Islam is incompatible with free societies and should be banned in all civilized countries. I was told my idea of “pet the pig” before entering a western country or boarding a plane might affect groups other than Muslims, but something to that effect should be instituted. When Muslim countries show they are civilized and tolerant, then they can consider re-joining the modern world.
