COBB, Calif. (KCRA) —A fast-moving wildfire burning in Lake County exploded to 50,000 acres and has destroyed hundreds of homes, Cal Fire officials said.

Cal Fire spokesman Daniel Berlant said more than 100 homes were destroyed by a wildfire that exploded in size within hours. That number was updated into the hundreds Sunday afternoon.

Berlant said wind gusts that reached up to 30 mph sent embers raining down on homes.

God isn’t doing this. This is caused by people who don’t follow God or common sense and instead believe in liberalism, a mental disorder, which doesn’t allow the controlled burning of underbrush to prevent these out of control wildfires. The people who vote for these liberal idiots are completely to blame.

Go thank your neighbors.

What do I think Sarah would do? By damn, she’d put on her waders, parachute out of a plane with a fire extinguisher AND she’s put that thing out! Calling Wonder Woman . . . .

My wife’s brother and his wife have had to leave their home. They have several farm animals and they had to move them to other locations also.

FATHER GOD,

We humbly ask You to protect all who are in danger of the raging fires. May they look to You as a Stronghold that they may run to.

Protect the first responders. May You control the wind and even cause a soaking rain to put out the fire.

Forgive us, Lord, for how America has turned from You.

In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

"All these are the result of the asinine ‘laws’ that prevent clearing of land and sensible forestry practices."

I agree with your sentiment, but think "all" is a bridge too far.

I'm thinking no appreciable rain for 4 years contributed, at least.

It's disgusting. I have friends who've literally lost everything overnight and these idiots posting here are behaving like members of Westboro church....

Yes, some of the comments on this thread are very disgusting and IMO are quite disturbing – a real insight into the minds of some (a few - thankfully) supposedly “religious conservatives”. It seems that as long as any type of natural disaster isn’t happing to them or to their friends and loved ones, it is probably somehow deserved. Some, sadly to say even almost seem to relish in the misery of others. But if something like a wild fire or a hurricane or tornado, etc. did directly affect them, they’d be the first to put up one of those “pray for me” threads.

I remember some of the comments made during Katrina and Sandy, basically implying that ALL those people got exactly what they deserved and had it coming to them – God’s Wrath and such. The same with the Moore OK tornado from a few years ago. FWIW, I have a cousin, a very conservative and deeply religious person who lost both his home and his business on the Jersey shore in Sandy and is still struggling to get back on his feet and a friend and former co-worker who is also very conservative and deeply religious person who lost nearly everything during Katrina and he and his wife lived in MS, and a very long way from New Orleans.

Evidently the God that some of these people believe in is a God who punishes hard working farmers and ranchers, business owners, many of them devout Christians in order to punish those sinful people living a long way away by not effecting them at all.

"Stop flaunting your ignorance."

Yep, ranchers, farmers...orchards...folks making use of the land.

Good, white folks, some of whom go to church.

If not the most beautiful place in the world, it's up there. Everything from Willows to Eureka and on through to Crescent City.

Which is ‘all’ the more reason for sensible land management. In a drought, common sense says you need to be even more vigilant clearing sources of fire/dead underbrush.

Cali specifically and the EPA/BLM in general have passed hyperregularion to prevent exactly that from happening to protect environmental damage to the biotic diversity, AKA flora and Fauna.

all of which is now dead and ash.

They do it to control the public and jack up costs which return to the DNC/pols in the form of higher taxes/permits and bribery/kickbacks to get projects done.

Result: dead animals, dead flora, new strident regs and more cash changing hands to rebuild.

History repeats.

Been there, done that, fought western landuse wars.

"When you turn away from God and worship politicians instead, whose policies are bound to hurt you, it is not good for your survival. For example, due to California insane liberal worship and their insane environmental policies, they have no water and they all know, they are already a fire zone."

Yeah, we deserve it. Just like those New Yorkers on 9/11. Or those dirty sinners in New Orleans.

And don't EVEN get me going on the due recompense that Andrew visited on Florida!

THEY had it comin'.

"When the perpetrators of such acts are caught, they need to be subjected to 'field executions', we're in a war, we have enemies out there who want to kill us, and we need to kill them first and without delay."

If somebody in Lake County catches an A Rab with a match, that's what will happen. They would never be seen again.

I agree, when a forest fire breaks out in Laguna or Malibu let us know and we may talk God.

Have you heard anything about fire fighting resources being sent to guard the sequoias rather than homes and property at risk ?

"Fire now 50000 acres 0 percent containment 10000 evacuated"

And at least 1,000 homes burned to the ground.

A MAJOR disaster.

It's even smokey here in Sacramento.

It all balances out. When God lets
bad things happen to good people, He
compensates by having good things
happen to bad people.
