I don't believe for a minute that you *seriously* believe that KGB Putin genuinely has America's best interests at heart. No one could possibly be that naive, outside of a young kid or blithering idiot. Putin's aim ever since the "demise" of the murderous communist Soviet Union has been to restore that evil empire, or one similar. What he is currently doing in eastern Europe, and in the Middle East, is clearly part of that plan.

He always has Russia's interest first.

He is afraid the communism he helped spread to the USA will return from us to Russia.
