Illinois Republican state Sen. Darin LaHood won the special election to replace disgraced Republican Rep. Aaron Schock by a landslide Thursday.
Lahood, son of former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, beat Democratic opponent Rob Mellon 69 percent to 31 percent, according to The Associated Press vote count.
The former prosecutor was widely expected to win the traditionally conservative 18th district.
LaHood senior is the guy who wanted to force us out of our cars and onto bicycles. How do you think he’ll vote?

LaHood was the GOPe’s RINO candidate who defeated a true conservative in the primary for this special election. LaHood won it certainly because of name recognition derived from his father.
He’ll be on the RINO side of the House Republican caucus.
Sad. With 69% of the vote LaHood will be pimping out his constituents to K Street ASAP.

He has a safe seat and will feel free to sell his vote to the highest K Street bidder. His constituents will not be represented. K Street has another R-K Street rep on their payroll.
He probably said and promised better things than the Democrat. The actual legislative and functional result will largely be the same.
