I was raised to believe racism was wrong. I have had blacks and Muslims who were friends. Even closest friends. I went with the wife to my best friend’s birthday in North Philly without even a thought until we got there and we’re the only white folk. He made us graciously welcome but everyone else looked at us like we were from Mars. We enjoyed ourselves in spite of those who did not understand. That was how I was raised to “fight back”. He and I both appreciated what we were trying to accomplish. Every time we had a gathering at our place he and his wife were there and none of my neighbors ever batted an eyelash.

A Muslim friend loved fishing. He was on the boat every time it got wet. We spoke often of Christ but he said straight up that it was not right a person could be a murdering rapist and repent at the last moment. I never could get him past that.

I regret that people like this are missing the opportunity to perhaps prevent what may unfold if events continue downstream. There may be many regrets downstream but like them, when the next one comes we won’t have a choice. My grandchildren and I have the same uniform. The one we were born in.

Well Mohammed was a murdering rapist so what’s wrong with that?

Sarcasm aside, prayers for your friend. May he come to Christ one day.

I don’t think he understand repentance. It’s more than a trite statement. It’s a spiritual change. A sincere transformative action.

If a man gleefully rapes and kills and then as a matter of rote strategy he says he is sorry just before a hangman drops him, his odds aren’t too good, in my opinion. Some Christians disagree but I simply don’t see it as anything other than that. Now, stating error is the first step but God isn’t a “rube” who can be played.
