That’s a possibility.
When is Super Tuesday?
March, 2016, I think.
If you added crazy loud obnoxious buffoon, you'd hit the nail on the head.
The problem is, it is entirely believable even if it’s not true- he tries to act like General Patton but he is no Patton- Patton had class and could back up his mouth.
you may have a point ... and back Cruz with another $ 50 million “cash” ...
Some idiots are calling for Cruz's demise because "he ain't electable" and have no idea of how his game plan is constantly developing and will not be full recognized until March or so.
GO CRUZ!!! Keep it up Trump
That has been my hope from day one. Consider this. President Trump with Cruz as Val Jar...
Oh Come on!
Patton’s mouth got him in a LOT of trouble.
WWII history might have been far, far different if Patton could have held his tongue.
It got so bad that he was dropped from the list of generals to lead the Normandy invasion. In fact, Marshall wanted him fired, but Eisenhower decided to keep him as a threat to the Germans, who HIGHLY regarded Patton as America’s best general, and couldn’t consider them firing him for making rough statements or slapping cowardly soldiers, but that’s exactly what the US Army was considering.
Eisenhower used Patton to spread the idea that Patton would lead the main effort at the Pas de Calais, and Hitler fell for it, even to the point that that belief meant the Normandy got a strong toehold and was successful.
Meanwhile, Patton continued to speak out and get in trouble. Personally, I find nothing wrong with much of what he said, it was mostly the Liberals who didn’t like what he said.
Post soldier slapping incident (which happened in 1943 in Sicily), he told a British Women’s Convention that the Americans and British would win the war (and left out the Soviets—which caused a huge brouhaha with the American Left and Russians). This happened when he was playing the fake invasion leader and Eisenhower had already told him to watch what he said—Marshall then advised FDR to send Patton home, but Eisenhower didn’t want to because the ploy was still working. If it wasn’t for that, Patton would have been sacked.
Thanks, RitaOK!
“he was a Princeton and Harvard Law graduate”
I will do my best not to hold that against him.:)
The reason Patton was attacked in the liberal press was because of his accurate criticism of the Russians. People like Drew Pearson were lefties/commie sympathizers and didn’t like Patton. Pearson was the one who exposed the slapping incidents.
Marshall didn’t consult FDR on sending Patton home. FDR didn’t get involved in those things and left them to Marshall. FDR relied on Marshall immensely.
Marshal and Ike knew that Patton would be needed later in the war, the decoy in Pas de Calais was a temporary convenience only.
Patton wasn’t sacked because the top brass knew Patton would be vital in winning the war. They weren’t stupid.
It’s not a rumor, it’s been all over FOX with the video of Trump making the remarks.
