I suspect it may be more than that. Given the look on Merkel’s face I suspect the Saudis have threatened to pull all their money from European banks and stock markets.
I’m sure you’re right. I’m also sure I’m right.
At one time when their objectives were closely aligned with ours, it was easy for politicians, generals, ambassadors, and such-like to accept investment opportunities with an easy conscience. I think they own half our government, and significant percentages of Euro governments.
We were discussing how Saudi money can influence the process. Of course, they aren’t the only players, but the concept is the same.
