Just come in from outside. Been working since 0700 because as always, another scorcher in Lower Alabama... Can’t wait for cooler weather! Already getting hot for the day.

So, you’re right. People need to examine the political culture of Latin America. It is one of caste based on color—pure Spanish blood on top, darker below, with full blooded Indians and blacks on the lowest rungs. The Spaniards have always ruled, but when a leader from the lower classes emerges, he will be a socialist. Exhibit A: Hugo Chavez.

But the ruling Spaniard class also rules hard left. And by this I mean RULES. There is no room for disagreement with mutual respect. You are either with them or an enemy that must be defeated at all costs. Fidel Castro, Juan Peron, and now my own Catholic Pope Francis bleats for socialism.

However, it is not nature but nurture that causes this. Many Latins who become American can easily overcome this Leftist/Authoritarian tendency—Ted Cruz is a shining example. By American, I mean someone who dedicates themselves to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Independence.

The facts say otherwise. Latinos/Hispanics favor Big Government to a much greater extent than the rest of the population.

Trd Cruz was born in Canada. He doesn't speak Spanish and his mother is not Hispanic. Cruz is an Hispanic in name only. But he is Hispanic when it helps him politically, e.g., amnesty and increased guest worker programs.
