Various Sites | VANITY

For those of you who want to know how each GOP Presidential candidate publicly stands on the Kim Davis/Gay Marriage issue, here is a guide.

BOBBY JINDAL

Bobby Jindal Defends Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis

QUOTE: "In America, You should be able to keep your job and follow your conscience."

MIKE HUCKABEE

Mike Huckabee offers support to Kentucky clerk who refuses to issue gay marriage licenses

TED CRUZ
Ted Cruz: 'I Stand With Kim Davis'

JEB BUSH
"[Davis] is sworn to uphold the law and it seems to me there ought to be common ground, there ought to be big enough space for her to act on her conscience and for, now that the law is the law of the land, for a gay couple to be married in whatever jurisdiction that is,

CARLY FIORINA
Kim Davis needs to execute the government's will" if she stays in her post

RAND PAUL
Rand Paul’s ‘solution’ to Kim Davis problem: ‘Why not just privatize marriage?’

RICK SANTORUM
Rick Santorum: What Kim Davis did is HEROIC and putting her in jail is RIDICULOUS

SCOTT WALKER
Scott Walker defends KY Clerk Kim Davis

QUOTE: " “Not only do I believe that the states have the right to define marriage and I disagree with the court ruling. But I believe that the next president, the most important thing I can do as president is uphold the constitution over all and part of the constitution is the freedom of religion not the freedom from religion but the freedom of religion…. We do that in our state. We have it very clearly defined in our state’s constitution . It has worked just fine in the past.”

MARCO RUBIO
Marco Rubio Says Government Should Respect Kim Davis’s Beliefs

QUOTE: “We should seek a balance between government’s responsibility to abide by the laws of our republic and allowing people to stand by their religious convictions,”

DONALD TRUMP
Donald Trump on Kim Davis case: ‘The Supreme Court has ruled’

QUOTE: “Well look — the decision came down from the Supreme Court … so I’m a believer in both sides of the picture,” Mr. Trump said Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I would say the simple answer is let her clerks do it. Now, from what I understand, she’s not letting her clerks do it, either.”

JOHN KASICH
"We'll honor what the Supreme Court does," he said. "It's the law of the land. It's the way that America functions."

CHRIS CHRISTIE

Christie acknowledged that “someone who works in the government has a bit of a different obligation than someone who’s in the private sector or obviously working for educational institutions that’s religiously based or others,” but opined that “we have to protect religious liberty and people’s ability to be able to practice their religion freely and openly, and of course we have to enforce the law too.”

LINDSAY GRAHAM
In a radio interview with Hugh Hewitt, Graham said that as a public official Davis must “comply with the law or resign.” “The rule of law is the rule of law,” he argued, “That’s what we are. We are a rule of law nation, and I appreciate her conviction. I support traditional marriage, but she’s accepted a job where she has to apply the law to everyone. And that’s her choice.”

HILLARY CLINTON
Marriage equality is the law of the land. Officials should be held to their duty to uphold the law—end of story.

BEN CARSON

There seems to be nothing coming from Ben Carson on this issue... if you find anything, kindly post it on this thread.

Is there something in the Constitution which says those employed by the government give up their constitutional rights?

RE: Why wasn’t Lois Lehrner jailed for contempt of court?

Lerner was held in contempt of CONGRESS. Eric Holder too.

Congress could start the proceedings to have them both jailed but those in power don;t have the courage to do it.

The end result is contempt of Congress is nothing bu Kabuki theater.

OK, Mr (NOT) Earnest, when did Kentucky legalize gay marriage?

Because they want to crush Christians beneath their heel, right?

Or is there something in the law that says they have to get the marriage license in their home county?

I don’t know how he could say that with a straight face but I don’t know how he says anything with a straight face.

That means Trump.

Actively supporting the dummycrats, I see. Such a shame.

Trump is tending to his bruised ego from his run in with a third rate reporter. He really should go to the front line of the battle sometimes.

Ted Cruz 2016 battling in the trenches.

Isn’t she part of a union? If so then why aren’t they fighting for her?

Isn’t it almost impossible to fire someone in government?

Why pick on her? She seems like a good employee, following her conscious and trying to do what the people of her community want.

Not like she’s in govt watching porn all day or ripping off the IRS.

RE: Isn’t she part of a union? If so then why aren’t they fighting for her?

Kim Davis is NOT an employee. She is an ELECTED OFFICIAL ( elected as a Democrat ).

She CANNOT BE FIRED. She can be recalled in an election or impeached if the citizens of her county so decide.

There are still ten candidates I have not yet crossed off the list.

Boy howdy, Charles, you've been around FR long enuff to know this is unacceptable conduct.

You must Swear Eternal Fealty to a candidate several months before you actually step into the voting booth.

This goes double triple if you are not a worshiper at the church of The Donald, The Hair, and the Holy Deal.

"So why wouldn’t the homos drive over to the next county and get a marriage license?

Let me bring you up to speed on the war against Christians (and Jews) being waged by homosexuals and Marxists in the USA.

Yes the homosexuals could simply have gone to another county, also the county judge in this county can issue a marriage license and offered to do so. The homos refused the judge offer and refused to go to a different county. You see the goal was not to get a marriage license the goal was to force a Christian to either deny her faith or be destroyed. The homos were hoping for a fine to financially ruin her. But she got jail instead.

The homos shop for a Christian baker, florist, photographer, clerk, etc. And when they find one they pounce they don't care about the wedding cake or the flowers all they care about is destroying Christians.

The near term goal is to force people of faith out of government and out of business. Middle team they want to out law Christianity. And then long term persecute Christians much like Germany did to the Jews.

It is pointless to offer constructive ideas on how to accommodate the godless with the G*d fearing. The godless want totally subjugation of the G*d fearing. Compromise is not a option.

Just stop issuing/requiring a license for marriage. That will solve one problem.

But the greater problem is the attack on morality.

Between killing babies, teaching faggery in our schools, calling for the removal of historical monuments....we've lost our rudder.

The Court got it wrong in a lot of cases....activists all about...and the courts have made a mockery of morality.

I agree with you. She should have resigned. I'm sure there are plenty of other "political" jobs available.

So why should she?? Because her job requires her to issue licenses. She can't have it both ways.

Interesting the Kim is a Democrat.

"Look what the left hand is doing." Have we been set up??

Seems like "in General, they're only asking Repubs what they think.

Kim Davis is NOT an employee, she is an ELECTED OFFICIAL (elected as a Democrat too ).

The only way she can be removed is via IMPEACHMENT or via recall elections.
