IMHO, they both are self absorbed twits who are mightly impressed with their own awesome intelligence.

There are many times I disagree with Hewitt but he did render a service here and in that show he played two interviews back to back
Hewitt asked Florina those same questions. Now she never heard Trump’s answers because they were taped in different segments and she came through with flying colors . I might be a fan of her’s because she’s making noise but not a supporter I can’t even spell her name correctly.

I just wish supporters would keep an open mind on their committment to their candidates in these early stages of the campaign. And to their positions and solutions they offer.

This thread is cracking me up. Those who really hate Trump say it’s his MO. To get mad. But everyone else knows Hewitt has disdain for Trump. If you can’t see it then you must feel like Hewitt and are cheering him on. Interesting.

ok fine you may be right... but nobody has to worry about Trump’s IQ level.. you may not like his style or his issues but you don’t have to worry about him being smart enough to be President..

Latest Gravis poll, AL, Trump 38%, Cruz 4%.

As to why Cruz would want to alienate Trump supporters, well, his FR fan club is already doing a bang up job on that. Doubt there will be any Trump supporters left to alienate once the Cult of Trump Haters finishes their work.

Just because the RNC says they’ll lay off Trump a while doesn’t mean the so-called conservative media won’t keep up their lame attacks.

Apparently it sounds just fine to the voters; Trump’s support continues to rise.

If you think that future Presidents should be policy wonks and familiar with all the crap that goes on in Congress, then choose a career politician.

I worked in the federal government for 36 years as both a naval officer and diplomat. If someone is a good executive and intelligent, he/she will have no problem running the government. Even an incompetent jerk like our Community Organizer in Chief can sit in the WH and be President.

The dirty little secret is that the government is run by the bureaucrats who surround the President. They provide him with the information and intelligence to make decisions. I have no doubt that Trump could do just as good or better job as the Clintons, Bushs, and Obama.

So Trump didn't know what the nuclear triad is? So big deal. He is not a policy wonk nor is he familiar with the inside lingo of the Washington bureaucracy. It is unfortunate we place such a premium on how many facts and legislation the candidates for President can cite. There is no doubt that the former and sitting senators and to a lesser extent, the governors, can get down in the weeds on various government programs and legislation. It may impress some people, not me.

The President is the CEO of the biggest corporation in the country. He is surrounded by advisers who provide him with information and recommendations. He makes decisions based on the information. He must also ask the right questions.

The President of the US is given the keys to a Ferrari and as long as he drives sensibly, the Republic will survive. What I want is a competent executive who is intelligent, decisive, and a leader who can select good people to run the country and inspire our people. I have no doubt that Trump can do that.

I just read the whole article and found this paragraph:

Reports emerged on Friday that Trump’s campaign staff are furious over Hewitt’s questioning of their candidate and is considering blacklisting him from future interviews.

That's no better than Obama with his who I'll talk with and who I won't. We don't think it's right of Obama to blacklist certain media, so we shouldn't give DT a pass when he does it.

A little too "Orwellian" for me.

What is "basic knowledge?" Do you think Trump knows that we have submarines armed with nuclear missiles? Or airplanes that can drop/launch nuclear weapons? Or that we have ICBMs with nuclear warheads? I think he does.

Maybe he doesn't know it is called the nuclear triad. So how does that impact his ability to be CIC?

The problem with the media is that they think they can grab the whip and whip the person being interviewed with wild abandon. They then start squealing when the person being interviewed grabs back the whip and starts pounding on the media. It just is not supposed to work that way.

I listened to the Hewitt interview and got the impression he was looking to trip Trump up. Why didn’t he interview Ben Carson as well on those questions? Or some other candidates. Why just Fiorina?

Hewitt appeared like a snake in the grass. Had he interviewed a good cross section of the candidates then I would have given him a pass. Fiorina was way too scripted.

Yes I thought the presser was great also. Trump takes questions from anybody and everybody. Who else does that?

Trump is hardly an amateur. He is a high powered executive in the private sector with thousands of responsibilities. You have written the dumbest post of the week. While Obama is a creature (parasite) of the public sector and has rarely if ever drawn a private sector paycheck. He has always been paid by the taxpayers except for a year or two I can think of. .

Yes. This a pattern.

Any reporters with tough questions will be attacked and blacklisted.

DT only wants to be surrounded by adoring fans, sycophants, yes men, and a servile press.

It is a cult of personality.

Why not? Why should Trump allow a clearly partisan MSM define him?

When Obama banned Fox from riding on the press plane during his campaign or when he regularly bashes Fox from the Presidential bully pulpit, I don't hear any of the other MSM decrying Obama's treatment of Fox. In fact, they chuckle about it.

I have no problem with Trump firing back at Hewitt and any other member of the benighted MSM.

“General Sulemani has been commander of the Quds forces for nearly 20 years.”

Yes that’s true but I believe Trump misunderstood the question and thought HH was asking about the Kurds. We are all a bunch of wonks on FR but honestly this stuff is minutiae. Most of the candidates don’t have a clue about the names of all these people.

I still say Trump needs to answer these types of questions by saying he doesn’t get an intel briefing every Monday morning like the one Obama never attends.
