remember the line in Jersey Boys about Liberace? soemthing like, this was the 50s. We thought Liberace was just theatrical....or something like that.

0=Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood

10=Boy George and Liberace.

Calibrate from there.

I sometimes wonder how people with “gaydar” know so much about being gay.

What does that mean?

It sounds like a homo talking point.

Gaydar ISN'T real: Scientists slam the phrase

What "scientists"?

Queer "scientists"? Packer "scientists"? Rump Ranger "scientists"? Scatology "scientists"? Smug, snarky, demanding, limp-wristed NAZI faggot "scientists"?

I, just-about IMAGINE!

It may be stereotyping, but it’s been accurate for me.

A “new study” doesn’t impress me much. Was it done by real scientists or Michael Mann “scientists”? Do real scientists even exist anymore?

As for me, my gaydar is pretty good, at least where queer men are concerned. One little lisp affectation is all I need to hear.

Scientists, eh? Wonder if they go by the name Mann and are famous for a hockey stick?

There have been a few actors that I never figured as gay because of their roles in movies.

Walter Pigeon for one.

It means what it says. How do these “sexperts” know so much about who is gay and who isn’t? Some God-given talent or just a need to feel like you can make wild assumptions? Yeah sure, sometimes it is obvious but to think you can size up an individual’s sexual preference(s) out of the blue then you’re probably giving yourself too much credit for having a well-rounded knowledge of human sexuality.

I don’t need gay-dar anymore. Sodomites shove their disgusting behavior in our faces and force us to celebrate it. Responses coming. Time to offend.

just curious...in your life experience, have you ever known anyone who you and others thought was gay, but turned out not to be?

Nope, there haven't been any false positives, only false negatives.

Rock Hudson was the one who fooled me the most. When I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be him.

One less talked about aspect of homophobia is when men over-assert their masculinity out of the fear of being perceived as gay by their peers. They sometimes do this by diverting attention away from themselves and towards somebody they think they can say is gay. They really don’t care if the person is gay or not because what really matters to them is that their peers don’t perceive them as being gay.

Well he was a good actor, so it was easier for him to play the role of being straight.

Today’s colleges and universities seem to “breed” that foppish, floppy manner and NPR-Speak tone of effeminate semi-uber-class speech deliberately.

I agree with you: It isn’t the foppish posture or limp-wristed hand-waving, nor the tone or lisp nor non-purposed, vacillation and wavering speech tones, nor the chin beard and mustache (WHAT? Can’t a homosexual receive oral sex without simulating a woman’s vaginal hair??) and either uber-macho muscles or uber-feminine Euro-model nothingness.

It is some combination of all of those factors. It’s long been said about animals: “Don’t let them smell your fear. Stand up to them as an aggressor.”

Well, in today’s world, the homo’s ARE the aggressor - only they are hiding behind a woman reporter’s skirts.
