You can't place a person under citizen's arrest unless you are present at the time the crime is committed. Apparently the Mexican may have been attempting to do that after the guard stole his sign.

Maybe the protester smacked the guard with the sign so he yanked them away from him.
Simple, call the police Marlowe, tell them you have evidence of a strong arm robbery and demand the arrest.
Jane, I don’t know what the rules are back there for sure, but the sidewalks are generally considered to be public property.
These guys were right at the curb. I had at first thought they might have been blocking the sidewalk, but that didn’t seem to be the case.
As long as they aren’t blocking traffic, I think they have a right to be there and display signs of their choice.
If news crews and the public were congregating blocking the entrance, then there could be cause to remove the sign and get them to disburse.
The best way to do that, it to notify the police and have them handle it.
No matter what the signs say, you make yourself look bad if you take action against these folks.
I don’t like to say it, because these guys were idiots, but you don’t do anything that can make idiots look like they were the abused ones. Here, Trump’s guys may have done that.
I don’t think assault is justified for the protester, but we know the media is going to skewer Trump over this. His guys may be fined here too. And who knows, this guy may get a monetary settlement out of it.
That’s why you don’t bother with idiots. You let them be idiots and generally they’ll be ignored by most everyone.
Who was going to pay attention to them before this? Not many. Now the media will talk about it for months.

Actually there are people like my wife who was from Mexico, came here legally and after many years in 2015 proudly got her US citizenship and we fly a nice big American flag in front of our house at her request. She assimilated and loves the country.
My wife has never been on the dole, probable out earns you by quite a bit based on your vocabulary an pays tens of thousands of dollars a year in taxes.
On my mother’s side of the family both grandparents were poor first generation immigrants from Europe. They started a business and made lots of money living the American Dream.
IMO you need to watch the mouth brushing ALL immigrants as foul. Many have probably way out performed you in life based on you post.
We want people to follow the law . The person you don’t like here could very well be a citizen Democrat Hispanic activist. Not every Latino is an illegal Mexican.

You sound hysterical. You have no idea why the guard had that sign in his possession. You use terms like strong arm Robbery when you saw no such thing occur. The protestor had his arms completely around the guard from behind. The guard is not there to be used as a tackling dummy, he’s protecting a presidential candidate.
