Very interesting aircraft.

On a somewhat alarmed side note, the mountainside seen in the lead photograph makes me hope it is just a product of forced perspective and that the Indian Army did not, in fact, situate a facility almost immediately below a very heavy fractured, near vertical cliff face.

That’s likely a forward facility near the Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battlefield. Its kind of inevitable to have such facilities given the importance that both India and Pakistan attribute to the Glacier. You control those heights, you have a natural advantage raining artillery in the next conflict.

The LCH was conceived to operate at such altitudes where conventional attack helos would find it difficult.
