It’s not the job of government to create jobs. Businesses create jobs. That is why corporate taxes should be lowered so that businesses can invest more of their money into growing their business. Growing businesses = more jobs. More jobs = more tax payers. More tax payers = more taxes for the government to waste. Now if we could just get rid of the waste.....
A Monmouth University poll of Iowa released Monday showed Trump tied with Carson for first place though Trump
************************************************************************
They keep saying that, when in reality, Trump was 5 points ahead of Carson in that Poll. Since the margin of error was 5 points, they called it a tie. Had Carson been 5 points ahead of Trump, would they have called it a tie? I doubt it very much.
Besides all that, there has been a more recent poll, by the same organization, that shows Trump way ahead of Carson.
How odd. I used to work for a doctor.
Bump that. Doctors do indeed create jobs. And, I might add, try doing without one.
Look, Doctors need assistants. When they open a pactice, the employ a few assistants and a nurse or two.
That’s exactly what Donald Trump said of Ben Carson. And it is true. Ben Carson does not have the experience in creating a large large number of employees.
Ben Carson is a good logical man but he does not have the ‘Art of the Deal’ in him which is a cult of understanding among sharks in business that aims to get the maximum and then some as part of the game. Carson would get what is reasonable and then sign. That’s not enough. When you go into a conference room on a trade deal, you look at your opponents with eyes to kill, and you persuade them that they must give up so much and then you continue getting concessions and here’s the kicker, you finalize the deal in such a way that the opponent you just handed their ass to thinks you’re the greatest! Carson can’t do that.
And when you empty the pockets of your opponent and have him licking from your hand, you go for more.
And some will say, that’s too much, you didn’t need to be so demanding. But the sharks don’t do it for what’s reasonable, they do it for the game. Like being in the boxing ring and beating your opponent’s face to a bloody pulp and you don’t stop. A referee has to step in and stop you if the opponent hasn’t yet fallen flat on the mat.
It’s the game. Trump has the game in him. Carson doesn’t.
Carson has a great intellect and great medicine in him but he doesn’t have the game in him.
We need a fighter, an experienced shark leader right now. Carson is for later.
Trump ( and others ) are right
Carson is a nice man but a complete unknown as a manager of anything much less the national security of the United States
"Ideas have consequences"(Weaver).
The ideas of 1776 came out of a set of ideas consistent with liberty.
We tend to forget, or have never considered, that other world views existed then, as now.
Unless today's citizens rediscover the ideas of liberty existing in what Jefferson called "the American mind" of 1776, we risk going back to the "Old World" ideas which preceded the "Miracle of America."
There are those who call themselves "progressives," when, in fact, their ideas are regressive and enslaving, and as old as the history of civilization.
Would suggest to any who wish an authentic history of the ideas underlying American's founding a visit to this web site, at which Richard Frothingham's outstanding 1872 "History of the Rise of the Republic of the United States" can be read on line.
This 600+-page history traces the ideas which gave birth to the American founding. Throughout, Richard Frothingham, the historian, develops the idea that it is "the Christian idea of man" which allowed the philosophy underlying the Declaration of Independence and Constitution to become a reality--an idea which recognizes the individual and the Source of his/her "Creator"-endowed life, liberty and law.
Is there any wonder that the enemies of freedom, the so-called "progressives," do not promote such authentic histories of America? Their philosophy puts something called "the state," or "global interests" as being superior to individuals and requires a political elitist group to decide what role individuals are to play.
In other words, they must turn the Founders' ideas upside-down in order to achieve a common mediocrity for individuals and power for themselves.
For too long in America, we have called Democrats "liberals," when, in fact, they are and have stood for ideas which are the antithesis of "classical liberalism."
Now, and for the past several decades they have morphed into and now identify themselves as "progressives," a term which, in itself, is misleading. The so-called "progressive" philosophy is, in fact, most regressive, for it advocates failed ideas which lead to tyranny and oppression, not to freedom, opportunity, productivity, and plenty. "Progressive" ideas are more aptly described by the word "socialist."
In that sense, perhaps Bernie Sanders is their real candidate after all.
Piss poor attack on Dr. Carson by Trump.
Very weak. Donald is scared.
I didn't read or hear that said.
Indeed doctors do create jobs like attorneys, morticians, pharmacy staff, appointment clerks, insurance claim managers, etc.
The only complaint she had with the hospital care was the bed in her room (semi-private but because she had twins she had the room to herself) was very uncomfortable. The nursing staff was very attentive and friendly. This contrasted hugely with the care she received at the ultra modern hospital in New Jersey where my son was born four years earlier. Inattentive nurses, one of whom I almost sued over her mishandling redressing my wife's caesarean incision causing a secondary infection.
I came to the conclusion that the huge staff's (and expenses that are driving many of them out of the profession) doctors here all seem to need are due to government over regulation, lawyers and our tort liability laws, and the massive and complex paperwork the insurance companies require. All of it combines into a stew doctors need a small army of employees to manage. Maybe others' Europe expatriate medical experience was different (I certainly wouldn't want to be in the British NHS or in a third world environment, but I repeat myself) but I was impressed with ours.
On this I stand with Trump. Carson is probably a great guy but we need a fighter in the WH...
“On the other hand, doctors are quite good at crisis management.”
Their main strength is they don’t fix their mistakes....they bury them.
Hey, Trump, neither does the government create jobs. Is he running for president or CEO? Does he know the difference?
>> Carson is a good man but he has not experience in what it takes to foster deals that create millions of jobs <<
How many jobs did Ronald Reagan create before he became POTUS? Ditto for President Eisenhower. Ditto for Abraham Lincoln. There are multiple paths to being a great POTUS, and they don’t all involve “job creation.”
Reagan created a lot of jobs as Governor in California.
Eisenhower was a General. He inherited a peaceful society and stabilizing economy so he’s not comparable.
Abraham Lincoln was a one-term Congressman who inherited a completely set of circumstances. So he’s also not comparable.
Carson does not have the right stuff in him to be a shark on the world stage. Trump has it in spades. Carson can be a statesman but the USA needs a shark now.
Carson is being played whether he knows it or not as a surrogate for Rove’s dirty trick trial balloons. Won’t work!
Doctors are great at creating jobs....for front desk paper pushers and lawyers. But who cares? Their focus is medical treatment, not jobs.
Ditto that...!
It was a tie: That's the meaning of the margin of error. Claiming that 46% is greater than 41% in a poll with an MOE of 5% is simply untrue. They are the same number for all purposes.
Math education in this country is the first thing President Carson is going to have to address.
Doctors need a lot more than assistants.
The medical industry is huge and doesn’t exist without doctors.
Trump just was off base in how he tried to make his point. He was making a point about managing and administrating. The businessmen make it happen.
But without the doctors there is nothing to make happen.
Presidents don’t create jobs.
But if they have the right policies and principles, they can foster an environment where the people can create productive jobs with real value propositions that generate actual wealth.
