What needs to happen is a BLM type stand off at the jail till she is released.
The federal government is trying to enforce a new kind of slavery: mind control by the secular state. Christian beliefs are no longer protected. However, Muslims are exempt from this tyranny.
Hypothetical but in today’s America, relevant. If Kimberly Davis was a Muslim and refused to issue a gay/lesbian couple a marriage license based on her Muslim faith(BTW, Muslims don’t mess around, they kill gays) would she have been arrested and charged for contempt of court??
None, essentially. They had to throw her in jail for “contempt”, so for disobeying a black robed tyrant’s orders. Yet this is an elected official, they do not answer to the judiciary, but are (supposedly) a co-equal branch.
I don’t know how the left expects this to play out. If Davis simply continues to refuse, what will they do? They can keep her in jail for contempt indefinitely, but then she becomes a celebrity political prisoner for the GOP to campaign behind for the foreseeable future. I don’t think that is the left’s goal. They want to break her and make an example out of her, but if she simply stands her ground, she wins.
The dissenting judges in the “gay marriage” case said this would lead to such an outcome.....it came fast.
Sounds as though the judge is inventing law from the bench.
If that’s the case, a healthy application of tar and feathers is in order for “hizzoner.”
Impeach those lawless USSC judges.
One thing I do know, we definitely need to crowdsource some financial support for her and her family, just in case she decides to go for the long haul.

Jailing an elected official over an administrative paperwork dispute is intolerable.

Who REALLY ordered her arrest. I lay money on the table the order originated from the WH but was handed off to minions to carry out.
The real question is why no US Marshalls have picked up Louis Lerner or Hillary Clinton...

Great Post, but you mistakenly assume the GOP is that smart or even wants to do that.
