The problem is the violent freak that attacked her.

I understand what you are trying to say; but part of the job description for a police officer is: Deal effectively with violent freaks and other dangerous situations (or words to that effect).

That doesn't necessarily mean that all cops have to be linebacker-size MMA-types, who can hit a thug-size target one-handed at 100 yards with a single shot; but, c'mon - it's a dangerous job. Law Enforcement and the military are not the place for Affirmative-Action social experimentation.
