“He responded that Kim Davis either needed to “follow the Supreme Court decision or quit her job.”

Always suspected Fr. Morris was a little light in the loafers.
He’s also a joke as a Catholic priest. Just another democrat operative that Faux News loves to have on to always side with leftists.

He ignored it the same way O’Zero ignored the DOMA from the minute he became president. The lawless SOB told Holder not to enforce a law of the land passed by Congress. That started the country on the road to queer “marriage”. Ask Larry Sinclair why Zero has an obsession with fags? He’ll tell you in a heartbeat.

There is another solution other than a Convention of the States. That was what Kentucky and Virginia did in 1798 when the legislatures of these two states declared that the Alien and Sedition Acts were unconstitutional and prevented their enforcement in their states. Additionally, the governor of Kentucky and the sheriff of Logan County have the duty to enforce the laws of Kentucky. If Federal officials attempt to arrest or interfere with the duties of the county clerk, they must assigned armed officers of the law to prevent Federal marshals or FBI agents from doing so.

This is the principle of interposition, wherein lesser magistrates prevent the enforcement of unjust laws on the part of higher authorities. This was the basis for the American colonies to secede from the British Empire. The provincial legislatures and local authorities resisted the demands of the crown, to the point of raising military forces to fight the royal authorities.

I've never suspected Morris of anything other than a spokesman for the church but certainly found his answer to be a thought out response but faint hearted attempting to "bridge the gap" so as not to offend homosexual activists yet disavowing what God clearly states in the Scriptures!

I wanted to shout, "Have you not read your bible, Father Morris.? We are not to "seek favor with men but to seek favor with God!"

This is not in the realm of "hate the sin but love the sinner," yet he seemed content with claiming "it's the law of the land" (aka get over it!)

Would he have stated the same over those German "laws" declaring Jews non-persons?

A person can agree or disagree with the clerk.

I agree with her and admire her, though I don’t know if I would be willing to do what she is doing.

But Carly is just being stupid. “Executing the will of the goverment” isn’t the answer here, it is the question!

Whether or not we should be compelled by the government to act against our own consciences is exactly what the clerk is fighting to determine...and it is also exactly what led to the founding of this nation.

If Carly wants to say “I think we should have gay marriages,” well, that’s for her to say.

If she thinks we are always to “carry out the will” of the f’ing goverment, then she is not a conservative, she is an imperialist of the Obama stripe (that would be black, white and red all over...oh and yellow too).

Hunh? I was merely pointing out that his statement talked about this sort of thing happening whenever anybody of the conservative persuasion stands her ground (OWTTE), and noting that she’s not a conservative, she’s a Democrat. And no, I don’t and won’t support Trump.

Sheesh.

Noting that Levin presumed she was a conservative and she’s not. A side issue, admittedly.

“I think that Ms Fiorina means the government’s constitutionally limited will”.

When was the last time the Constitution got in the way of the Supreme Court in making laws out of thin air?

Which is the same rationale these demented assholes used to strike down DOMA.

The party is over.

Too long.

Yeah, I agree that it’s a option to try, but IMO it will certainly fail.

Events since have the Federal Gov holding the cards now on most matters. I doubt state governments who are largely dependent of fed money for this, that, and the other, will be openly hostile to their big brother.

Especially with these clowns we have now.

The main problem is, as you correctly said, is with the clowns we have now.

Well yes....of course, but I think there is a bigger more generalized issue.

From my observations over the past few decades, I can’t help but notice a general unwillingness of the rank and file to challenge the government with anything but rhetorical flourishes at best.

I should be seeing flags, signs, rally’s, marches or something that involves a decent crowd, but I don’t.

People on our side tend to avoid conversations about it. They don’t want to offend or stick their neck out.

We cannot expect any changes or any rollback of Obama’s handiwork, until they do.. It is this, and the re-election of Obama in spite of everything negative in the country at the time and the fact that we did a hell of a job getting that information out.

Many blamed the GOP and Romney as a poor candidate, but I can blame Romney/gop for the numbers of people who pulled the lever for Obama.

I think the continuous brainwashing of our young for 50-60 years has turned the corner on this conversion to a European Socialist State. I don’t think we can turn it back without a equal effort on the conservative side to turn the next couple generations, and we don’t control the education of our kids. We have not controlled it for many decades.

Hate to be a negative Nellie this morning, but I am trying to come to grips with something I just can’t accept nor will I ever accept it. If we were to attempt something that could change the direction, I think it will have to ignore all the “small ball” stuff and go for the throat, win, lose or draw.

Not issuing a marriage lisence [sic] is a minor inconvenience (go to a different county)

According to Dana Loesch, anyone in Rowan County can be in another county (to get that license) within half an hour's drive. But getting the license is not what's important to them. Getting her name on the license is what matters.

It’s the GOP’s favorite tactic: preemptive surrender.
