Why would Donald going third party destroy America? Wouldn’t it be great to have a truly viable third party if the GOP nominates another left-leaning establishment hack to run against the democrat’s even more left-leaning establishment hack? Look at the leadership of the GOP (McConnell and Bohner, that should tell you exactly the kind of Republican hack you will get in the White House. Please think this through.
I know your argument. I hear it everyday from fed up tea partiers at work. As a former gov’t teacher here is my explanation. Ever since George Washington (to his chagrin) we have had a 2 party system. Only a few times such as 1856-1860 has a 3rd party emerged to be dominant. In 1912 the Bull Moose party under Teddy Roosevelt almost pulled it off. I believe we have a structure now that we must work with. I will support any true conservative under the Republican ticket( I don’t know what to do with the Christies, Bushes, McConnells, Boehners, Cantors, etc.) As a nation I do not feel we can stand 4 or 8 more years of democratic-socialist tyranny. We must try to turn the rudder of the great ship America around and steer it towards orthodoxy and sanity. If Trump runs as a 3rd party, we are doomed with Presiden Clinton or Biden.
