Politico: Haters for Trump
POLITICO ^ | September 2, 2015 | BEN SCHRECKINGER

Posted on 09/02/2015 6:28:50 AM PDT by maggief

HANOVER, N.H. — They think Donald Trump’s ideas are “disgusting.” They think he is making a mockery of the American political system and that even he doesn’t take his own candidacy seriously. And that is exactly why they say they plan to vote for him.

Meet Trump’s protest voters.

People who in the past might have gone to the polls only to register their disdain for politicians by writing in “Mickey Mouse” — or perhaps even “Donald Trump” — now have a Republican frontrunner to rally around.

Like many sincere Trump supporters, they believe the system is totally screwed up. But instead of viewing Trump as the solution, they view him as the embodiment of the problem. And they say they’re prepared to vote for him to prove it.

“This is the candidate America deserves,” said Jeff DeFlavio, 29, a small business owner registered as an independent in the nearby town of Lebanon. He said he plans to vote for Trump in the primary, but adds, “His immigration policy is disgusting to me. It’s absolutely revolting … I really don’t want him to become president ever. Ever. He would destroy the world, which is what’s so wonderful about him.”

There’s something to this. Right now, people are so disgusted with party politics - above all, with that band of GOP congressional losers we just elected - that they want to protest the whole system, hoping it will hasten the inevitable implosion. Why not do that by voting for someone they consider an arrogant blowhard?

New clinic for addicts planned in Rutland
By David Delcore
Staff Writer

Hoping to provide a cost-effective and convenient treatment alternative for Vermonters battling opiate addictions, a Massachusetts man is opening a clinic on Baxter Street in Rutland.

The clinic isn’t the only one Jeff DeFlavio is opening. It is part of a business model he said is expanding far faster than he anticipated when he opened the first Recover Together clinic in Claremont, N.H., in March.

Since then, DeFlavio opened a clinic in Lebanon, N.H., and is opening three more — one in Keene, N.H., another in downtown Barre and another “within walking distance of the courthouse” in Rutland.

For the past five years the Darfur crisis has spurred activism among university students in the United States. Various organizations are working to increase awareness of the genocide by mobilizing and educating students on their campuses. One of those groups goes beyond these goals by seeking to involve Darfurian youth in seeking solutions to the underlying problems in their country. The group is called Banaa, which is the Arabic term for education and enlightenment. It is mobilizing funds to create educational scholarships for outstanding youth in Darfur to come study in American colleges and universities.

The two co-founders, Jackie Menditch and Jeff Deflavio, attend the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and became involved in efforts to pressure the university into divesting from Sudan to protest the Sudanese government’s involvement in the Darfur crisis.

In the process, they created Banaa. “The goal is to equip these Sudanese students with the necessary educational and leadership skills, so that they can go back and apply them in their communities,” says Menditch.

She and Deflavio refer to the Sudanese students as “peacemakers” who will be critical elements in resolving the crisis in their homeland. The first of the Darfur students will arrive soon from northern Kenya where he is an administrator in a Sudanese refugee camp.

Hey, a small percentage of alleged freepers really, really, REALLY hate trump, and rely on these hit pieces and lying headlines to sate their bloodlust.

I know, many are openly for Cruz. I also like Cruz, but he won't get the nomination.

The GOPe will stop him easily. The GOPe has to be demolished into oblivion before a guy like Cruz to ever rise.

The fact that Trump is taking this kind of crap from both sides of the aisle tells a big story and people should listen up.

For reals, player?

Quick question: Of all those people marching around and chanting, "Police are pigs! Fry 'em like bacon!", what percentage of them do you expect to vote for Trump and what percentage for Hitlery?

Follow up question: Of all the people who have been killing cops these last few months....

Or do you not find killing cops hateful?

There is only one Jeff DeFlavio listed on intelius.com. If this is the same DeFlavio quoted in POLITICO, Dave is correct. This report is flat out dishonest.

CGI U. A PROJECT OF THE CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE

Banaa: The Sudan Educational Empowerment Network

Justin Zorn and Jeff DeFlavio, George Washington University

Founded at George Washington University by a group of student anti-genocide activists, Banaa matches Sudanese survivors of atrocity with scholarship opportunities in the United States. The organization maintains a database
of highly qualified students working for peace in Sudan who wish to further their education. Empowered with a university degree, Banaa Scholars return to Sudan with the technical skills necessary to address the complex causes of conflict in the region, which has affected over 4.2 million people.1 At CGI U 2008, Banaa committed itself to provide scholarships for 20 qualified, conflict-affected young Sudanese students by summer 2009, as well as match these students with mentors at leading NGOs, who will help them hone their skills and amplify their ambitions to be life-long public servants to their home country.

ÌÌObtained support of The George Washington University, which has agreed to support Banaa’s 2008 pilot program benefiting an exceptional Sudanese student, currently working as a teacher in the Kakuma Refugee Camp, who will begin his studies in the fall of 2008. Additional funding for logistical costs and additional living expenses was provided by the Vittantonio Foundation, the David Miller Foundation, and student fundraising efforts.

ÌÌExpanded to include Mills College, the College of Idaho, and Coe College of Iowa, which have financed full tuition Banaa Scholarships starting in 2009, as well as Tufts University, which has begun fundraising efforts, Banaa Student Chapters were also launched at 25 other universities.

ÌÌEstablished partnerships with foreign dignitaries, scholars, political leaders, and NGOs in both America and Sudan, who will help identify potential Banaa scholars, ease their transition to life in the United States and serve as professional mentors.
