Denali means “the great one” in Athabaskan.

Bolshaya Gora, the Russian name for it (learned something new today) means “big mountain”.

The Secretary of the Interior has the authority to change the name, and that has been done.

Alaskans first asked for this change to be made federally 40 years ago. I cannot fathom why so many freepers have a problem with this, other than they have to be against anything Obama is for.

Childish.

Well name one other thing in the last 6 years that Obama was for that you were for.

The fact of the matter is that Obama did not have the authority to rename it. It took an act of Congress to name it, so unless Congress changes it, it is still Mt. McKinley.

Where in the Constitution does it give Obama the power to void an act of Congress and officially change the name of a Mountain owned by the Federal Government?

Do you support dictators?

If Denali means “great one,” then perhaps they should rename the mountain - Mt. Levin - you know, after Mark Levin - the great one! LOL
