IOWA: CARSON, TRUMP TIE FOR LEAD
Monmouth University Poll | Monday, August 31, 2015 | PATRICK MURRAY

Posted on 08/31/2015 8:32:30 AM PDT by Hojczyk

When Iowa Republicans are asked who they would support in their local caucus, Ben Carson (23%) and Donald Trump (23%) tie for the top spot. The next tier of candidates includes Carly Fiorina (10%) and Ted Cruz (9%), followed by Scott Walker (7%), Jeb Bush (5%), John Kasich (4%), Marco Rubio (4%), and Rand Paul (3%). The last two Iowa caucus victors, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum, each garner 2% of the vote. None of the other six candidates included in the poll register more than 1% support.

“These results mark a significant shake-up in the leaderboard from Monmouth’s Iowa poll taken before the first debate,” said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute in West Long Branch, NJ. “Carson and, to a lesser extent, Fiorina have surged, while Walker has faded into the background.” In mid-July, Walker was the front runner in Iowa, with Trump and Carson following behind. Since then, Walker’s support has dropped by 15 points, while Carson’s has increased by 15 points and Trump’s by 10 points. Support has also increased for Fiorina by 7 points since Monmouth’s last Iowa poll.

Only 12% of likely Republican caucusgoers say they are completely decided on which candidate they will support in February. Another 42% have a strong preference now but are willing to consider

In this reliable poll. Trump, Carson, Fiorina & Cruz add up to 63% of the voters polled. That is devastatingly bad news for the “vermin” GOP (E) RINOS!!! A meaningful political revolution is alive, well and churning in the USA.

Add to these numbers the massive amounts of “Blue Collar” Democrats and all types of independents who now support Donald Trump and the 2016 POTUS race looks like it will be a total wipeout of the Obamabot vermin and the nesr destruction of the low life, America hating Obamabot, cop killer , Democrat Party!!!

That reminds me of a story about a boss sending a apprentice carpenter to do work on a theater marquee in the center of town.

The carpenter told his boss he didn't know anything about marquees. The boss told him not to worry there will be plenty of people coming by to point out what you're doing wrong.

Wow, as much as I like Carson I absolutely do not see him as president.

I don’t necessarily dislike Trump but Carson is making the case based on who he actually is and what he has done in his life which tends to make him more relatable and likeable.

Most importantly, Trump and Carson are non-politicians, which is truly stunning.

As is third-place Carly Fiorina... and 4th place Ted Cruz is very anti-establishment... The GOPe isn't exactly huge on fifth-place anti-union Walker, so they're stuck with their horse Yeb in SIXTH.

Is the RNC getting the message yet? If not, we can have the winner make a promise to dismantle and replace the RNC... and they can watch his polls rise another 10 points as he does.

“Carson has emerged as the anti-Trump”
Good insight.

Wish the poll reported the ‘firmness’ of support for specific candidates though (they did ask after all). Would be a lot more informative.

The GOP elite in failing to pay heed to the concerns of their base are either knowingly or stupidly throwing the general election to Hillary.

Big draft Elizabeth Warren move. Democrats will get a woman if it kills them, and us. Warren would finish the job for Obama.

The GOPe will not include Fiorina in the next varsity team debate even though she is polling at 10%.

The RNC could not make a clearer case for the need for us to leave them and replace the GOP.

Carly isn't Presidential material, but she needs to stay in the race to keep jabbing at Clinton. Nobody does it as well as Carly. Even if she is polling at 1 percent, the GOP should keep her on the main stage and in the cameras at least once per week... but that's assuming that the GOPe was into winning elections, and that's highly debatable over the last 14 years.

Johnny Carson was born in Iowa. Maybe some of them think Ben Carson is related to Johnny....

I repeat:
TRUMP AND CARSON HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR YEARS!

This is a joint effort with Cruz to take down the Gopee. They have manipulated the primaries to get the establishment candidate elected. Now the new guys are beating them at their own games

The GOPe is not afraid of Carson...

That worries me, I am betting they have something on him and know they can torpedo him whenever they wish like they did Herman Cain.

Since their last poll in July Trump has went up 10%. Carson 15%.
How is Trump stuck at 20-25. Not according to this poll.

You are on point my friend! The outsiders together are polling 65% and this is starting to been seen in national and other state polls. This math has even been pointed out by some pundits. This means that Bush will not win under the Romney Syndrome. Recall he won with the ABR candidates fizzled Romney support increased.

Team Jebs’ Newest Strategy – Push Ben Carson?…
http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/08/30/team-jebs-newest-strategy-push-ben-carson/

As much as the RNC/GOPe would like to take Trump out, it is now obvious from within the GOPe party apparatus, via their establishment media network, they are increasingly recognizing they just can’t take him down.

As an outcome of accepting this reality, it appears a new plan is in the works to promote an alternative and attempt to split Trump’s coalition. The most obvious candidate to do this is Ben Carson (next would be Carly Fiorina).

Dana Perino, a die-hard Bush loyalist, has been working this angle for several weeks. Fox news host Megyn Kelly has also been working diligently to promote Carson as a kinder, gentler and more palatable, ie. less vulgarian, option.
