Missouri passed a “Macks Creek” rule; named after a small town that funded itself with traffic tickets. Limited the % of the city's budget that could be derived from traffic tickets. Town has since shut down as a political entity.

Mountain View is a postage-sized suburb in SW Denver and is only a speed trap. Most people don’t even know they are in MV they think they are still in Lakewood.

I posted the above back in 2006 when Mountain View was caught issuing tickets for drivers travelling north on Sheridan. The northbound lanes of Sheridan was out of Mountain View's jurisdiction.

It was short lived and had a weak ending but after a couple of episodes it got going.

Stuart Margolin was in it. He was good but shined in Rockford. Angel was the best part of any episode he was in. I’m glad he wasn’t used constantly.

That was true in South Carolina 25 years ago if you were pulled over by the local police/sheriff's department. Pay your fine in cash on the spot or you were driven to the local magistrate, who might let a bondsman post bail for you.
