When a police officer in Dayton, Ohio, handed John Felton a warning for a traffic signal violation, Felton asked whether was stopped for something besides having out-of-state plates, according to a video of the conversation posted on Facebook.
Because you made direct eye contact with me and held onto it when I was passing you, the officer replied in the video.

Felton grew up in Ohio but now lives in Michigan. His car has a Michigan license plate.
He told WKEF the officer followed his car about two miles and originally said hed committed a minor traffic offense not signaling more than 100 feet before making a turn.
...
Felton let the officer know he was recording the conversation and complained about being followed.
...
In the video Felton recorded, the officer gives Felton a warning. Felton then asks why he was stopped in the first place.
Im not doing nothing, because I have a Michigan plate, other than that why are you trailing me? Felton said on the recording.
You made direct eye contact with me and held onto it when I was passing you, the officer said.
What! I didnt even see you, Felton said.
I am not going to argue about it anymore with you, sir, the officer said. Ill just scan your license and give you a citation for the violation and you could take it to court.
OK, sir, Felton says. He and the officer then drove away

“Thank you for saying that, I would rather not have to look at you.”
No worries of that. We vampires don't cast shadows. ;)
Or, is he just looking for trouble?
Did you forget the sarcasm tag?
It’s difficult to obtain more Justice than one is willing to pay for.
How dare he drive defensively!
Forget? When did I learn how to make one of them there tags?
I wish this forum would let you edit your post. I meant to say I was driving in North Carolina.
In b4tg.
Traffic court judges are a step down from Judge Judy, if that's possible.
He should have said, “It’s just that I think I know your wife. I’ve seen your picture on her nightstand.”
to me, this cop sounded perfectly “Dragnet” “just the facts mam”...he wasn’t going to stand there and banter with the guy in the car which is a good thing....the more time you spend with these types, the more augmentative the conversation gets...
True Dat. The SCOTUS have opined that Cops are free to make up Law on the spot.
Paint a Gay flag on the roof of your car and label it the Harvey Milk....Hope for the best.
Thought that looked a little odd.
I used to work right next to a government attorney.
He never had to pay a ticket and he had gotten quite a few. Usually when the local JP sees you are an attorney he realizes that it is not worth their effort, at least if he has any kind of argument and he always would come up with something.
“There are some real assh*le police out there”
Most are that way anymore...
I live in Ohio too and I hate Kasich and seat belt laws.
The cop was looking for a reason to pull him over because he was from out of state.
They know that it is likely you will not come back to contest the ticket.
Making a sarc tag is a secret and prized art!
You must forge it from the heart of a meteorite under a full moon in the heat of flame fueled by Bee Gees records and memorabilia as electronica and ska music plays to give it the proper crystalline structure upon quenching in the pool of Phillips milk of amnesia!
