1. He shut down the government single handedly with a filibuster.
2. Got Obama to sign his bill on Iranian terror ambassador:

3. Gave a speech saying Mitch Connell lied on trade authority.
4. He has sponsored and co-sponsored a huge number of bills in the Senate
“The laws
We looked through Cruzs legislative history on Congressional Quarterlys database and found that since he became a senator in January 2013, he has been the main sponsor on 44 bills and a cosponsor on 187.
Of those on which he was the primary sponsor, only one passed, as Bash said.
This bill, the one Cruz mentioned in the interview, passed unanimously in April 2014 and was intended to stop Irans proposed U.N. envoy from entering the United States. Iranian Ambassador Hamid Aboutalebi was involved in holding more than 50 Americans hostage in the U.S. Embassy in Iran in the 1970s.
Cruzs name is on two more laws as a cosponsor. He was one of 80 senators to cosponsor a July 2014 bill to enhance cooperative programs between the United States and Israel. He also joined a bipartisan group of 22 senators behind an August 2014 bill establishing a special envoy to promote religious freedom in parts of Asia.”
This is from the very liberal and anti=conserviatve politifact: http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/mar/29/dana-bash/how-many-bills-has-ted-cruz-passed-senate/
5. He has stopped other bad legislation from happening.
This is very important because the conservative movement is primarily about dismantling an overwhelming jacobin federal govt. It is not about passing more legislation. If Cruz were not in the Senate, McConnell would have already committed and infinite array of repulsive legislative compromises.
This is why House Leader John Boehner expressed such glee that Cruz is running for President. He said he is glad that the “jackass” is not in Congress while he is out campaigning.
That statement alone by the speaker of the House speaks volumes about how accomplished Ted Cruz is.
Keep in mind that this is someone who has argued multiple times in front of the Supreme Court— and won 5 cases in front of the Supreme Court.
I challenge you or any other Cruz skeptic to name a greater list of conservative accomplishments among candidates available.
Stopping the government with a one day filibuster is not an accomplishment. Getting fooled by McConnell lies is not an accomplishment.
So Cruz does have ONE accomplishment in 3 years, to stop the Iran ambassador. That was an easy one, so no one wanted that terrorist to be approved.
If one wants to be president, one must show he/she has leadership qualities to attract followers. Cruz has sponsored a “HUGE” number of bills as you say, but only ONE of his “easy” bill passed. Cruz can learn a lot from Trump how to lead and attract followers.
