"Really? Terrorist have used that border to enter the US. But that doesn't really matter does it?"

Here's the truth of that matter. I came back here from eastern Canada once, when there was a terrorist alert for the West. Canadian security was tight, even though it slowed travelers down a little. Sikh security was impressive. They obviously had knowledge of every traveler and searched every Middle Eastern man. Saw it in person.

Terrorists can get over any kind of wall or wire obstacle very quickly and easily. I specialized in obstacles in military training and have quite a bit of experience in civilian security and technical work. Men with construction experience can also cross obstacles very quickly, so a wall on the Mexican border wouldn't do much good, either.

The War on Terror will either have to be won with real soldiers overseas or a huge mess for years involving civilians on our own soil. Police work here alone isn't going to do it. Police aren't able to monitor everyone all of the time, and it's not really their job (little experience there in the past, too).

As for excessive Mexican illegal immigration, denying jobs by getting tough on employers will be the only major way.

I favor spending the money on drones and fast response teams. When the drones or fast response teams get these people back to their side of the border quickly and without ICE involvement the word will get out. And no I'm not calling for lethal interdiction but tear gas and rubber bullets can sometimes have consequences.
