Adele is set to turn down an £80 million pay day to tour her new album, because she doesnt want to travel with her young son, writes Simon Boyle in the Sunday People.
The Someone Like You singer has a string of offers from some of the biggest concert organisers all vying to stage her first comeback gigs next year.
But she is yet to agree to any gigs at all in 2016 - and has hinted she isnt prepared to sign up to travel thousands of miles with a young family.

I applaud any mom who puts values her child over her career. Adele could demand nearly any price, but (if this report is accurate) she will turn down money in order to be with her son.
I pray she and her family find the Lord.
I’m a big fan of Adele. She’s incredibly talented and in concert sounds exactly like she does on her albums. She seems to be a very nice woman, though maybe a little emotionally challenged in the relationships department.
How much if that 80 million is hers versus the record label, promoter, venues, band, roadies and assorted hangers-on? She might be giving up very little.
Ok figure 10% 8 million yup chump changed who could blame her
I think this is also a major reason she isn't touring. She sounded very strained when she sang at the Oscar's two years ago. There have been rumors that her upcoming album took so long because of her recurring vocal problems.
I remember Adele’s US debut on SNL, the same night Sarah Palin was on. She credited that for her very successful debut. I get the sense that she’s not like most young singers who find fame and fortune. Something a little more real and grounded about her.
I wonder if she’d make any more money considering the exorbitant tax rate of Great Britain? I understand its somewhere in the 80-90% rate when one makes that much money.
Speaking for myself, I'm not keeping up with pop music as much as I used to but I have heard Adele's music and she's quite talented.

all of it, it says that she turned it down.
That’s 80 million British pounds sterling which is way more than 80 million US dollars. It’s closer to 120 million plus US dollars. Whatever percentage Adele would get, she is giving up a lot in order to raise her son. God has blessed her with both a beautiful voice and proper priorities.
She manage to pick as her husband a guy who married her when she got pregnant.
Today that is just about as canny selection as you can expect in the UK.
It isn't. The standard rate is 20% for income over £10,000, higher rate 40% for £31,786 to £150,000, top rate 45% for anything over £150,000.
I remember that the Beatles were taxed an astronomical sum at their zenith. The Rolling Stones even left Britain because of the taxes. 45% is still pretty high.
The astronomic rates you quote were introduced as an emergency measure in WW2, but were retained by the Labour governments of the 1960s. They were slashed by the Thatcher government n the 1980s, with the top rate brought down to 40%. It remained at 40% until the 2008 crash, when the Brown government introduced a top rate of 50%, supposedly as a temporary measure. The subsequent Con/Lib Dem coalition reduced it to 45% in 2012 rather than abolishing it.
