Donald Trump Dominates Sunday Shows, Even Without Being on One
WSJ ^ | Elizabeth Williamson and Ryan Tracy

It was a rarity that Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump didn’t appear on Sunday’s morning talk shows, but his presence was felt nonetheless, prompting the other GOP candidates to make the case that they remain relevant despite sagging support.

Introducing Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd summarized the mood of the GOP race this past week: “[Mr. Walker] was supposed to be the favorite in the race for some, the conservative Republican from a blue state, who beat the unions and got things done. But like so many of the Republican candidates right now, Walker has been swept away by the Trump storm.”

Mr. Walker responded that in October 2007, President Barack Obama was running far behind Hillary Clinton, and went on to win. “I think the biggest spark for us is getting the message out that now’s not the time to put in place someone who hasn’t been tested before.”

Mr. Walker repeatedly denied that Mr. Trump’s success has caused him to shift gears: In recent days, he’s been criticized for moving to the right of his past positions on issues like same-sex marriage, the death penalty, and immigration.

Trump has gotten inside everyone’s head, a sign of being quite a bit ahead.

"Donald Trump Dominates Sunday Shows, Even Without Being on One"

The Sunday shows are what's wrong with the media. The self anointing bunch. What Trump is drawing out into plain view is the public distaste for the media, it's deep rooted dominance over controlling us, and the political class it serves.

Trump’s acceptance and recognized need is much like the latent market that existed for the cell phone that very few really thought much about or woke up to.

But look what happened when the cell phone was presented to its waiting market. In this case, the driving force was the desire for portability. In Trumps’ case it is the BURNING NEED to clean up the Washington government and rebuild the criminal liberal destruction we are still suffering.

Trump is holding the “trump cards” that gives him the hand to address the latent need to FIX AMERICA’S big issues that even the most ignorant of the electorate are realizing are far more critical than they cared to think about. The polls say they are think now.

This is true, but it isn’t fair to the other candidates to have to sit down for an interview and have to talk about their main opponent in the race. They should be allowed to talk about their plans, goals and visions for the country.

“I think the biggest spark for us is getting the message out that now’s not the time to put in place someone who hasn’t been tested before.”

Words of wisdom from Mitt Walker who doesn’t know what he thinks from one day to the next and everytime he finally settles on an answer to something it jives with the GOPe. What a joke.

He is so far above these pipsqueaks heads it is amazing. One minute they say “Did he just say that?” and the next minute they say “He can’t say that”. He is in their OODA loop.

Bingo. I call him the Vibranium Man, who, like the material in Captain America’s shield, absorbs the energy and hurls it back at the source. He is exposing these guys the way Newt did in 2012, but with a big difference: Newt’s attacks were generic on the press, the media. Trump specifically takes on individual reporters like Kelly and Ramos and calls them out publicly. It has backfired on these reporters big time.

They should be allowed to talk about their plans, goals and visions for the country.

If they were as adept as Trump at handling the press they probably would, but they keep letting the press drive the agenda.

Bobby Jindal stood up very well to Martha Radditz's verbal assault. She tried to get him to come out against Trump re: sending illegals home. Jindal was a strong voice for legal immigration, integration into US values, and learning English.

I could see advantages to a Trump/Jindal ticket with Cruz staying in the US Senate while that cesspool is cleaned up.
