You only get to know....what they want you to know, or they accidentally admit to.

So in this environment where cops are hated and decried as "racists" by the left, you think that all the evidence that supports massive police brutality/bad cop scenarios is being covered up?

I wouldn’t use the word “covered-up”. I spent thirty years associated with the military and have learned the art of just not mentioning your woes. If you had a shortfall, you didn’t say nothing in public...you’d just dig for more funding or just let the mess pass by.

Six years ago, I was reading through a piece on ‘gift’ money that President Obama and Congress passed out. Some small town city clerk passed by the local cop station in town and was shocked to see them throwing new computer boxes in the dumpster. The whole police department inventory was replaced. How was this possible was the question from the clerk, who knew the city hadn’t approved any budget for new hardware.

Well, the cops explained that they had put in for a ‘gift-deal’ from money that Congress was dumping out on public projects, and they got all new hardware from that. The funny thing...as the clerk dug into this...the check went to the police department and they had their own bank account, thus avoiding the city accounting services. No one could explain where the account came from or how it was managed (being hidden makes it a question-mark).

My brother brought up a month later...my old home town had gotten a brand new boat to patrol the local dam and lake. $10,000 speed boat for the cops, and the city council admitted that they knew about this but hid it from the public view until after the boat arrived. The boat? Oh, it was supposed to be for preventing terrorists from getting near the dam (yeah, good story), but they use the boat for DWI boating (another gimmick for town profits).

Up the road was another town where the cop put in for a Homeland Security grant for a night-vision goggles item. Funny thing....he didn’t tell the city council about that and they just accidentally walked into one of his surveillance episodes and demanded to know where the night-vision equipment came from. They forced him to sell it to another police-department.

What I’m saying....is that overview of police actions is now warranted. Even the laws which are applied in some cases and totally dismissed in other cases...require some kind of public statement. If you’ve got cops in your town who are misbehaving and acting like sixteen-year-old kids....then it’s the public’s responsibility to step in and either force mature behavior or fire the guys who are out of line.
