Trump: I’m winning because Americans are 'tired of being the patsies'
The Hill ^ | August 29,2015 | By Mark Hensch

Posted on 08/29/2015 12:19:18 PM PDT by Hojczyk

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he is leading the GOP race because he represents Americans who have had it with their nation coming up short.

“People in this country are smart,” he told listeners at the National Federation of Republican Assemblies’ 2015 conference in Nashville on Saturday.

“We’re tired of being the patsies for everyone,” Trump said.

“There is a big, big, growing-by-leaps-and-bounds silent majority out there. [The 2016 race] is going to be an election based on competence.”

Trump argued he is surging in national polls because he represents the Tea Party supporters ignored by Democrats and betrayed by Republicans.

“I love the Tea Party,” Trump said. “You people have not been treated fairly. These are people who work hard and love their country, and then get beat up by the media. It’s disgusting.”

“At least I have a microphone and can fight back,” the outspoken billionaire added.

Trump indicated he envisions a much wider base for his campaign than traditional Republican voters next election cycle.

“You don’t know how big you are,” he told listeners. “The Tea Party has tremendous power. It’s Democrats, it is evangelicals, it is everybody.”

The New York business mogul also vowed he would not succumb to the prestige and power of Washington’s political establishment if he wins in 2016.

“They go to Washington and they get weak,” Trump said of Democrats and Republicans alike. “They get there and they see these beautiful, vaulted ceilings and they say, ‘Honey, I’ve made it.’ That won’t happen to me, I promise.”

Trump also said he intends on saving taxpayer dollars by focusing his energy on the nation’s capital if elected next year.

If you’d leave your little hate-box once in a while and read what I have written, at length here in FR, you’d know.

And yet you’re spouting the same talking points as the media and GOPe.

Busted in a lie. Show me where the media used the same talking points as me. That Trump is a liberal and socialist. His exaggeration of his wealth and admitting it in a deposition. That he supports socialized medicine and taxes. His support for eminent domain and big government. For his trashy reality show morals. They don't. They only criticize him for his outrageous lines, which is what he wants. And I don't even mention those. You are busted.

It depends on your definition of conservative.

My definition does not include acceptance and endorsement of socialist single-payer healthcare, land grabbing, crony capitalism, support of far-left liberal kooks like Pelosi, Reid and Clinton, and support of far-left gun bans initiated by anti-gun zealot Dianne Feinstein.

Does yours?

So you admit the only reason you support Trump is because of what the media and the GOPe say? So the major difference between you and I is that I will never vote for a liberal based on what the media/GOPe say, and you will vote for a liberal based on what the media/GOPe.

Now that we've got that cleared up...

I have some of the same reservations you’ve cogently stated. What’s your plan B then?

And what did you think about Palin? She has just said she’d be happy to be his selection for vice president. How do you feel about Ted Cruz? He’s not criticizing Trump - he’s collaborating with him.

The most important issue is the PERMANENT demographic electoral changes which continued immigration will impose. Every year which passes, we get millions of new Democrat voters. If this is not reversed, by 2024, no conservative will ever win a national election again.

Correct, with exception that I'm not sure that we have until 2024.

“But seriously, this is a rather open admission that Trump is NOT a TEA Party conseravtive. He doesn’t say “we”, he says “you people”

Heart purity test again. If he had used, erroneously, “we” you would have called him a liar, and probably with reason. Nobody has ever stated, much less Trump, that he was connected with the Tea Party.

Why is it you’re never out here pushing “your guy”

Why does it matter. I don't have a guy yet. Cruz, Jindal, and Carson seem different. but I will never support anyone from the Jeb/Trump axis.

By the way who did Trump support in 2012. On yeah, Romney. He even reregistered as a Republican to vote for him in the primary. Np sale on your RINO interloper! What's you next argument on why I should vote for a RINO liberal?

What’s your plan B then?

Why is Trump plan A? We have 16 candidates already who aren't Democrats in and the primary hasn't started yet. Why do we have to let the media dictate this primary before it even started?

What’s your plan B then?

I love Palin. I actually posted here on FR that she should be the VP a week before McCain picked her. I don't know why she is playing footsie with Trump. She's had a lot of pressure on her from the media, and she obviously screwed up in her Alaska governor endorsement last year.

As for Cruz, he looked like a great conservative, but in the last few months he's had some incidents that worry me about him going RINO. And his toadying to Trump makes him look small. I hope he can turn it around. Plus, Trump will never endorse Cruz when he drops out. It would be totally in character for Trump to say something very negative about Cruz on his way out.

I like Jindal too, if he can gain momentum.

I don't see this is as a perfect primary, but the idea we should abandon conservatism and focus on Trump before it has started is stupid.

Why am I a troll? Because I won't support a liberal? It's funny that Trump supporters say this. Aren't I just doing what Trump does? Standing up to the media and speaking my mind?

Someday you will deny you ever supported Trump and say it was obvious he was a phony.

The Republic can survive four more years of "socialist single-payer healthcare, land grabbing, crony capitalism, support of far-left liberal kooks like Pelosi, Reid and Clinton".

It CANNOT survive many more years of Third World immigration.

As I said earlier, once the demographics reach the tipping point, then we lose. We lose everything, and for all time. We become Venezuela, which used to be majority white, but tolerated people flooding in from Columbia, tipping the balance towards brown, which resulted in Hugo Chavez being elected.

The former middle class has been looted ever since.

No you don’t understand nick.

My idol is Jesus and he’s not running. I’m a Cruz supporter with both my time and my money.

I’ll say again that you see the world in a way that doesn’t matter. Hence your comments don’t matter. You, nick, don’t matter.

Cool. Go support your candidate of choice. In about 7 months we will know pretty well who the real front-runners are, and who have not gotten any enthusiasm.

Some people say "Cruz or lose". I say "Anybody but Jeb".

That’s all fine and swell, and I don’t disagree with you on immigration. But you’re putting your faith in a lifelong liberal to fix it based on what - his campaign promises? I don’t trust him, I don’t trust any liberal. Name another liberal you trust other than Donald Trump. If you can’t, why are you trusting Trump? Because he is saying what you want to hear during an election cycle?

If you are a Cruz supporter, why are you supporting someone who stands for everything Cruz supporters and someone who has taken Cruz down a peg?

I hear all these Freepers who rabidly support Trump, and then say, "Oh actually I support Cruz." I guess deep down you know. Why not have the courage of your convictions and drop the cover?

Hence your comments don’t matter.

Which is why you responded to several. Deep down you know.

You, nick, don’t matter.

But at least I am right. Trump will drop out soon enough. He'll be a Democrat eventually. And eventually, you will say, "I was a Cruz supporter. I knew Trump was a liberal phony. How could anyone have supported him."

Trump is NOT going to give up/pull out.

Carson is a nice man, only became a GOP very recently, and has NOTHING at all to commend him for the position of president.

Jindal is never going to catch fire.

Walker is a bigger flip flopper than Trump and is falling.

Carly's ONLY recommendation is that she beats up on Hillary; elsewise, forget about her.

Rubio ? BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Sadly, Cruz isn't catching fire, but, unlike you, I'll be very happy when trump picks him for VEEP !

And as to cabinet picks, Trump has dropped a LOT of "probable" names.

The GOPE and the MSM are NOT pushing Trump; that's just your delusion. Ditto calling him a "SOCIALIST" !

Your cut off your nose to spit your face attitude, name calling, impugnations of fellow FReepers, and constant thread trolling are all disgusting; nick and you used to be better than that.

And don't you dare sling crap at me; I've been here longer than you have and also have been an active conservative far longer to boot.
