Hitler wanted to dissolve the borders of Europe and create a Third Reich. The Vatican was on his side before they weren’t on his side. It seems the Vatican has a problem with borders and control migration.
The Vatican supported many leaders in Europe who were fighting to prevent communist takeovers of their countries throughout the 1920s and 1930s; why shouldn’t they? Catholics were brutally murdered wherever communism took hold; the Catholic Church is still canonizing martyrs from the Spanish Civil War, where over 7,000 priests, hundreds of nuns, and thirteen bishops were murdered by communists between 1936 and 1939.
When you see how our country fell in a bloodless coup in 2008, you should be able to better understand what drove Hitler and many other traditional people in Europe. While it may have degenerated into an indefensible murderous rampage later on, those leaders were initially morally correct to fight off communism. That is why Hitler was Time magazine’s “Man of the Year” in 1936.
My dad had some pictures of Hitler with the Pope when I was young.
