Trump’s official stances on a lot of critical issues are being overlooked because, for the most part, this is not even about Donald Trump. This is about a party that had long been disenfranchised but lacked any national vehicle through which to express its despair.
At first it was about Trump - who is this guy, what's he talking about. But it morphed into a movement due to the fact that it's now about an
idea, and has been for some time. Even if Trump goes away, the
idea is gonna remain. Our Rulers - that's what they are - have blundered into another classic mistake that occurs over and over in history. Their tin-eared duplicity has set fire to a smoldering revolt, which will lead to even more mistakes from their coming efforts to stamp it out.

The name and the Tea Party idea remain, but it is ineffective. Trump is needed in order to give the unbending leadership that the Tea Party lacked. Maybe he is the Born Again Tea party.
