I don’t judge a candidate only on what they say. I look at what they do/did.
With Trump, I look at his passion to improve this country. I see how his “brand” has been tarnished and rejected by the likes of Macy’s, NASCAR, and ESPN. He’s losing a lot of money, yet he’s not concerned, b/c he has a greater priority to improve our country. He is going against the grain, not getting caught up in PC politics, or backing down to a challenge.
You probably voted or voiced support for a lot of the Repubs in Congress that were either elected or re-elected in 2014 only to find they are no different than D’s. THOSE are your devils in disguise.
I understand your position, and fully agree with what you say about Trump. I’m merely saying that if any candidate has to lower himself to run as a Democrat merely for the sake of winning an election, they do not deserve my support.
As far as my voting for Repubs in the 2014 election, I did not. I live outside the US, and regardless of what the official story is about absentee voting, it doesn’t work that way in reality, at least in some cases. I am registered as a Republican in Arizona, but try as I might, I cannot get the attention of anyone to send me a ballot. I have not voted for the past few elections even though I went through every single requirement listed on the Department of State website for obtaining and submitting a ballot. I contacted the local US Embassy to no avail.
The State Department rules allow only a very small window of time for them to send a ballot and for the voter to return it, and if it is late it will not be counted, as per their site. International mail, at least to some countries, does not work that fast, thus many expats are, intentionally or otherwise, disenfranchised.
