“His holiness is grateful for the thoughtful gesture and for the feelings which it evoked, hoping for an always more fruitful activity in the service of young generations and the spread of genuine human and Christian values,”

This has the feeling of a "rubber stamp" to me; who knows if the Pope even actually saw this. Might it have just been some clueless underling sending out the equivalent of a form thank you letter. Granted that Pope Frances can seem disappointing at times, but when all is said and done it may just turn out the the Pope is Catholic after all.

Pretty obvious the Pope himself had nothing to do with this, but that doesn’t stop the FReak-out...

“who knows if the Pope even actually saw this”

Either he is grossly incompetent in administration, or grossly incompetent in theology. My guess is both, along with being a fundamentally stupid person.
