How the Supreme Court Abolished Article V of the Constitution

On July 31 at the American Bar Associations International Human Rights Award Luncheon, former Justice John Paul Stevens declared that, while the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment establishes a right to gay marriage, it does not protect an individuals right to keep and bear arms....
I marvel at Stevens ability to reject an application of the Fourteenth Amendment to a right clearly enumerated elsewhere in the Constitution (viz., the right of the people to keep and bear arms in the Second Amendment) while affirming its application to a supposed right not elsewhere even remotely alluded to in the Constitution (viz., the right of a person to marry a person of the same sex).
As Harvard-trained lawyer Brian Troyer commented, You need look no farther to see that liberal jurisprudence has nothing to do with law or the Constitution except in the instrumental sense that when liberal judges pronounce their judgments on these issues they invoke the document as their excuse for imposing their personal policy preferences.
In Obergefell v. Hodges Justice Kennedy, writing for the bare majority (Kennedy, Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan), based the case for the oxymoron that is gay marriage on the due process and equal protection clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment. So far-fetched was the connection that its effect was to dumb down intelligible words that have an historical context to the subjectivity of a Rorschach inkblot test or a reading of tea leaves.

As a commenter stated,
They actually have no real power because they rely on the other two branches to fall in line.
So we could just start laughing at them. Once that starts then getting a new law passed clarifying the courts power can be made easy.

The power in the United States of America, by virtue of the constitution, lies in the people through the house of Representatives. Which has the power to remove justices from the USC.

The courts have had enough power to destroy our country or at least aid in its destruction.

It's clear at this point that we live in a lawless country, and that the "law", such as it is, depends upon the whims of a ruling elite often working against the clear will of the people.
So at this stage wouldn't it be proper to consider sedition and treason to be patriotic acts?

The Federal Courts and especially the Supreme Court believe themselves to be the SUPREME branch of government rather than a co equal branch of government. The Federal Courts also believe that they have a right to veto the people when they pass State Constitutional Amendments or laws through their state legislatures if they're too extreme such as banning homosexual marriage or denying welfare benefits to crimigrants. Once these enlighten lawyers issue their decrees that's it, after all the people can't be trusted to govern themselves.

Exactly. Impeach all at the same time. Now that would be a treat.

That is assuming the Congress has a leadership with gonads that really want to do it! The lame GOPe so called leadership of Bonehead and McDuffus will do nothing within the power they have.

No need for rational thought. A Living Constitution just grows new appendages as needed and those old “vestigial” organs like the 2A just whither and fall off. Easey Peasey.

The winner of the world’s strongest man title, capable of lifting weights that four ordinary men together cannot handle, could lie down in bed and refuse to get up except to go to the bathroom and back and in a very short time he would be as weak as a small boy. In other words powers not used tend to be lost. The people of this country have not used their powers so they have lost them and it would take a monumental struggle to regain them.

Better to require the gov. to decide whether such should be enforced, but it really comes down to the people, as to what they really believe, as this is shown by who they elect, and thus the manner of judges they appoint.
For while the Constitution is sppsd to be interpreted in accordance with the mind of the Founders, the devil is in the details of how that is interpreted.

The Federal Courts and especially the Supreme Court believe themselves to be the SUPREME branch of government rather than a co equal branch of government. That is really up to the people via whom they elect. With the latest poll showing Biden solidly beating Trump (much rather have Cruz) then it is continually shown how post-Christian and deceived the majority is.

Kind of like certain religions do with the Bible, adding things totally unseen in it, under the premise of ensured magisterial veracity.
