In Florida, we have a law called The Baker Act for such people.

It’s as though you’re saying that their personal and professional inaction in regards to his personal problems could be perceived as being racist and that reporting his behavior out of compassion would have been doing the right thing.
In my opinion, as co-workers, they didn’t owe him diddly-squat. Station management made the right call in terminating him and sometimes, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

I don’t know if a similar law in VA would have helped in this case, but it might have. We, here in FL, are very familiar with the Baker Act and its uses. It has even become a verb.....................
