Every Day Carry, or EDC, as the name implies, are the things you carry every day. Car keys, wallet, etc. From a preparedness perspective however, your EDC may be all you have available in an emergency situation or all that you have to help get you home.

Might think of adding a little bit of TP, unless you have it already and forgot to list it.

“...all of this and more is stored in my zippy Photographers Vest.”

I picked up one cheap at a military surplus store. They hold an amazing amount of stuff. This one was big enough for me and put together well. I also got a German map backpack that’s a perfect range bag for just a couple of bucks more.

And you’re right. It’s easy to forget just exactly what’s in every one of those vest pockets.

I usually have a minimum of three knives. One used as a tool every day (Gerber folder), a smaller folder (Camillus--a 2-blade 'grandpa' knife) in the pocket, and another folder (Kershaw) clipped to the other pocket, inside, rarely used, just well sharpened and lightly oiled.

Other 'tools' are not uncommon.

Sturdy pocket knife, keys, some change, some cash and ID.

Fire is stupid easy to start, so no need to carry a lighter. Can’t carry a gun as I tend to go into Federal buildings often.

No cellphone, everyone else is carrying one.
In a true emergency, there will be no cell service, seen it happen.

Haven’t worn a watch in over 20 years, and I am never late, go figure.

This is my EDC load-out.

>>It helps to be tall and deep pockets are always a primary consideration when buying pants.

Its not the size of the pockets that concerns me. Its the weight of all that stuff. 5 knives?? Do you wear suspenders to support all that weight?

Well as long as you don’t put Bob in the stew, we’ll be in good shape.

Surprisingly, all that stuff weighs about as much as a mid-size aluminum framed 9mm and a couple of spare mags. The knives all have glass reinforced resin scales and are all very light for their size.

I only load with 45 ACP or 45 Super for EDC
The 460 R is for the range or the woods
It’s a fun round

Would be an excellent round to carry for Bear encounters gone wrong. I think it would bring down a KodiaK!

Only as an emergency round
Brown Bear is better with 12 ga or 375 H&H
