Donald Trump to speak in Greenville today

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump will speak to the Upstate Chamber Coalition's Presidential Series on Thursday at noon.

The event is sold out with about 1,400 people preregistered and about 100 media personnel expected.

This will be Trump's first trip to the Upstate since announcing he will run for president.

A recent Monmouth University poll shows Trump has 30 percent of South Carolina Republicans support. In second place, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 15 percent. South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has 4 percent.

Political analyst Chip Felkel said so far, Trump has been given a 'pass' by voters but will have to provide more substantive facts soon.

"He’s getting a pass. I think the pass is being given because people are really frustrated that they elected this group or that group and they didn’t get what they thought they were going to get. It might work for him. We’ll see," Felkel said. "It's more than just a novelty. It's not going to fall flat on its face. There’s something real there. But how far that goes in the end, the jury is still out. "

And who exactly is running for the country’s sake? Jeb?

The TD Convention Center is huge. I have no idea why this event is so limited.

Chuckle. The presstitutes are just what they are. Not many, if any, have made jobs available for others to do. Not many have met a payroll or negotiated with others to expand their business to make it possible to hire more employees. The presstitues are on a payroll. They are hired to say what their bosses say or think. They keep saying the Donald needs to expand his policies. If they took the time to read his book, “Time to Get Tough” they would have an inkling of his plans for America. They keep telling us about his past giving money to democrats. That was a smart move on his part, he bought the critters and was able to get more space to build another building and give more people work. They keep saying he is a democrat, but never mention he raised money for Presidential candidate Reagan.

Many of the uninformed of SC may not yet know that Loveable Lindsey is a candidate for President. But when they find out, just watch those polls flip!

I suppose. Just wish they would have scheduled an event for the masses, too.

Exclusively? Nobody.

But, I’ll give others more credit for having that motivation than Trump.

How do you determine who is running for the “right” reason?

“Trump will address a sold-out audience at the TD Convention Center at noon. He is the special guest at the Upstate Chamber Coalition Presidential Series and approximately 8,000 people are expected to be in attendance.”

Big difference between 1400 and 8000. I have no idea which is correct.

Things I look for (to judge positively or negatively):

Evasiveness in an interview.
Whether or not they can offer specifics-either when defining a problem or promoting a solution.
Arrogance.
If they can justify a policy position—whether I agree with it or not.
Their past policy position and how it differs from the current one.
Their bedfellows.
Their experience and how it may/may not pertain to the problems as they define them.

That’s just a few. Need more?

Maybe both. Luncheon followed by speech. Been done before. Local group makes money for local candidates by selling tickets to lunch where he does a meet and greet. Rally follows open to all to energize the base. A twofer

Cruz has some positives, but I don’t think this is his time.

I’ll admit I’m skeptical of some more than others.

At this time, I’m not a supporter of any particular candidate; except to say I’ll support our nominee whoever he/she is, because the alternative would assuredly result in President [DEMOCRAT].

And as the past 8 years should have convinced anyone, that is too much to bear.

Well, thankfully it is highly unlikely Jeb will be the nominee.

I don’t see him the likely nominee, either.
