ALBANY, N.Y. -- It wasn't just Troy police officers showing their support for Officer Chad Klein.

As he walked out of Albany Medical Center, he was surrounded by fellow officers and K9s from agencies across the Capital Region.

"As dark as Saturday was, today we're on the other end of the spectrum," said Troy Police Chief John Tedesco.

Troy Police Chief John Tedesco says there's still shock within his department about what transpired Saturday night, but as dangerous as it may be, his officers have a job to do.

"It's concern now for every officer going out the door, is this going to be replicated?" said Tedesco.

The Troy Police Department has clashed with some residents over the last few days. Just Monday officers took down a memorial for the alleged shooter, Thaddeus Faison.

"They become a point of agitation for people who are looking to make trouble. You know, if they were truly in a point of grieving we understand that but there gets to be a limit on all of it,” Tedesco said.

Tedesco says any memorial for Faison will come down.

"Mr. Faison chose his own fate when he tried to execute two Troy police officers. We feel for the family, but we're not apologizing,” Tedesco said.

Tedesco says although it's been a tough few days for his department, Tuesday show of support helped boost morale.

"We're receiving a lot of threats against our officers. We're certainly on top of any of that so we do have a heightened sense of awareness but today's just a happy day,” Tedesco said.

Attitudes expressed in Troy with the memorial suggest that this stuff is morphing into an actual insurrection. That is the beginnings og these things in other third world countries.

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police in the city have arrested a teen for possessing an AK-47.

Troy Police are reporting that 19-year-old Kareem Rowlette of Troy was en route to the area of Glen Avenue and Seventh Avenue when he was found to be in possession of an AK-47 type Assault Rifle. He was arrested on Seventh Avenue and Swift Street.

Police were able to disarm Rowlette and place him into custody without incident. This area is just one block south of Glen Avenue and Seventh Avenue where the Troy Police Department has increased its presence. The increased presence is due in part to complaints from the neighborhood and property owners about increasing graffiti, disorderly conduct and blocking of the street and sidewalk.

A memorial is set up in that area by persons acquainted with the deceased suspect Thaddeus Faison that shot at and struck Troy Police Officers Josh Comitale and Chad Klein.

I wish more people today had this attitude. Quit apologizing for things you do or say that are right.
