A gunman killed a reporter and videographer for a CBS affiliate in Virginia in a shooting that was broadcast live Wednesday morning.
Alison Parker and Adam Ward, a reporter and cameraman for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV, died in the shooting, Parker's mother confirmed to CBS News.
WDBJ-TV reports that deputies from Franklin County and Bedford County were on the scene.
The shooting happened at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia.

I just really feel bad for the guy’s father and the families of the victim. This guy was probably one step away from doing this his whole life and today was the day. Crap.

Do the rules of victimhood cancel out or aggregate? Double-negatives often cancel each other out. Maybe he was too open with his gayness AND blackness, and they said, "oh, we can't handle two victim identifiers at once, let him go."

A Roanoke radio station said he just died. I heard it on the way from home. Another station said he was alive.
My experience with EMS is “We have not contacted next of kin yet”.

By the side of the guy’s hand and the fact that the magazine met cleanly with the well, I’d guess it was a factory standard Glock 9 MM.
