Deadly shooting during live TV news report in Va.

A gunman killed a reporter and videographer for a CBS affiliate in Virginia in a shooting that was broadcast live Wednesday morning.
Alison Parker and Adam Ward, a reporter and cameraman for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV, died in the shooting, Parker's mother confirmed to CBS News.
WDBJ-TV reports that deputies from Franklin County and Bedford County were on the scene.
The shooting happened at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia.

Unreal. He actually stands there pointing the gun at her, then puts his arm down, moves around a bit, then unloads. Posts the whole thing to facebook. Unreal.

He filmed the gun pointing at the news reporter. You can see him shoot the reporter 3 times as she runs away. He then dropped the camera.

It shocks the system. I remember watching the Berg beheading years ago and feeling the same way. The idea of watching someone’s life come to a violent end is unnerving. Seeing a bad car crash is one thing. Watching someone go from being alive to being dead due to one person’s predisposition toward violence is stomach-turning.

Jihad? Quite possible and that wouldn't surprise me. But not every act of violence is jihad. It well could be that, or it could be as simple as a nasty breakup. Time will tell.
In any event, it's horrible and tragic, and sympathies to the families, co-workers, and friends of the victims.
