StoreDot is developing a new type of battery with innovative, synthesized organic compounds that the Israeli company promises will charge an electric car in five minutes, providing 300 miles (480 km) of driving distance.
Thats more than twice as fast as the quickest charger currently on the market. Todays ultra-fast charger can replenish lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium or nickel metal hydride batteries to 70 percent in 10 to 60 minutes, according to the Battery University website.
StoreDot CEO Dr. Doron Myersdorf says, The fast-charge battery is the result of our focus on commercializing the materials we have discovered.
Other batteries contain toxic, polluting heavy-metals, while StoreDots EV FlashBattery contains proprietary electrolyte, an ecologically-friendly material, while meshing polymers and metal oxide together materials that leave a minimal environmental footprint, the company explains on its website.

They also have phone batteries that charge in less than 2 minutes...

I’ve seen hundreds of battery claims over the years. Pretty close to zero have ever amounted to anything.
there was news many months ago about some researchers at the University of Illinois who siad they had a new battery “in the hopper” which charge times were far far faster than todays batteries and chargers.
I wonder if these breakthroughs are somehow related
I want a Bike Battery that will charge while Im having a cup of coffee..
If they’d put a big gasoline engine in them and an alternator, they could keep them constantly charged. :>)
The charger should be pretty big to handle that current.
Exactly. My comment would be, I hope this one pans out.
Wow, what a great thing if it did.
That ship already sailed.
Ah, all the elements necessary for a miracle battery:
1. Israeli company. Foreign miracle battery companies are best because their claims are harder to verify. And anyway, everybody knows how smart Jews are.
2. synthesized organic compounds. Says it all doesn’t it? BTW, ALL organic compounds are synthesized unless extracted directly from nature, in which case the claim could have said “all natural organic compounds”, which by the way, does have it’s own special kind of charm. But still, “synthesized organic compounds” sounds more high-tech and less Gaia.
Yeah. Can you imagine people who can barely put petrol in their gas tanks dealing with that kind of voltage? In the rain?
