Sorry, ladies, there really is a man shortage
NY Post ^ | 08/25/2015 | Reed Tucker

It’s not your fault. It’s the ratio. To all the young, college-educated women out there who feel like Donald Trump will probably become president before they find a decent, eligible man, take comfort. According to author Jon Birger, you’re not imagining things. In “Date-onomics: How Dating Became a Lopsided Numbers Game,” out today, Birger, a former writer for Fortune and Money magazines, crunched demographic, census and other data to show that it really is historically rough out there for the ladies.

Maybe this women should investigate why any number of American men have no interest in American women.

The young ones at least.

I believe the Guess Who did that in 1970

There’s plenty of eligible men out there for the ladies. The ladies may just have to lower their standards a little. Not all men are the knights in shining armor that their dads told them to look for. And some of are decent hard working men. Which of course means we are probably a little boring, but we are responsible.

Because what a typical college educated NYC woman defines as “decent” and “eligible” man can do much better.

I don’t doubt that “ladies” are having a hard time finding a man.

What with all the skeezes and ho’s out there willing to give it away; how can a lady compete?

Talk about a lost demographic.

Emotion-driven, logic-challenged, guilt-ridden, entitlement-warped, potty-mouthed, skank-dressing, hard-drinking, cellphone-attached, pierced, tattooed, mostly fatherless adult girls.

Terribly sad situation they’re in. No happiness on many of their horizons. Thank you, fiministas.

And a LOT of American men are looking elsewhere for good, old-fashioned wives.

“None of this would matter if we were open-minded about who we dated,” Birger says. “The problem is, Americans — both men and women — have become more rigid about dating across socioeconomic boundaries.”

This is a big issue. These college girls want someone who is more “successful” than they are, more advanced, more established in a professional career. These girls would never consider getting involved with a plumber.

Irony being that a plumber may make more money than the MBA she would like to connect with.

This is more a woman’s issue than a man’s issue, in my opinion and observation. Plenty of successful college educated men are happy to settle down with a woman who is a file clerk or a secretary. Men have no problem marrying down to so speak.

Taking a stab at this:

A hard working straight guy who is employed as a plumber or auto mechanic gets tired of his significant other harping on him constantly about how much better educated and more sophisticated she is than he?

Hard working average guy gets tired of her harping on him about being oppressed by a patriarchy and how all men, even those who sweat and slave to keep a roof over her head and a car at her disposal, are engaging in cultural oppression?

With web apps like AshleyMadison and Tinder no need to put up with any of that for more than a one-night one-time hookup?

Increasing numbers of young men opting to play for the Homo team?

American women look at the check book first. No marrying for love and accepting the slings and arrows of building a good life with a good man over a life time. They want everything they think they deserve. Unfortunately, most of them will get exactly that.

- and a lot of American men have just given up. Myself included.

I know any number of good, hard working men who never married. Tried to find the right girl but it just did not happen no matter how hard they looked. What was available was not worth the time or effort.

- and not one of them ( again, myself included ) is interested in the party chick or former party chick.

Nothing nearly that complex.

I’m just saying an Ivy League MBA would rather date an Ole Miss sorority girl than a pushy NYC broad.

And they are quite bitter about it.

There’s no shortage of males but there is a shortage of actual MEN.

I heard a news report this morning that many of the millenials girls going through dating services are looking for men twice their ages. I strongly suspect this is the reason. They are not looking for a decent guy, they only care about the bulge in his pants.

And those of you who thought I was referring to the male appendage have dirty minds. I was, of course, referring to his wallet.
